Lovely hotel ruined by food options.
Hotel grounds are beautiful, our room was lovely, Golf Course amazing and the bar & restaurant staff were fantastic.
Major issues with the food though!.
My wife is vegetarian so we emailed before hand to book some ala carte restaurants, reply said no issues with booking and we had to do it upon arrival. You have to phone 3333 to make reservations and can only do this between 0800 and 1600. Day of check in on phone for over 30mins without answer, then the 1600 deadline was passed. We could not do it Day 2 due to a fishing trip 0640 to 1700, so we had buffet each night. Buffet has theme nights, one of which was BBQ with no veggie option, so she had to have salad (again).
Breakfast only starts at 0630, so if you have first tee off time you cannot get breakfast before hand, if you have a tour or fishing trip with a 0640 pick up, you can only get a (very quick) takeaway breakfast (5 min walk to reception). Hotel would not pack up a breakfast for us on last day when we had 0630 pick up for fishing and restaurant would not allow me in early to grab some bits, even though food was already laid out, so no breakfast.
Stayed 3 nights, $400 a night for my wife to eat salad for dinner, we only got 1 full breakfast, 1 partial as a takeaway and nothing on last day. Complained at front desk, just got a sorry. Upon returning home complained to Marriott and they reverted it back to the hotel.
Btw, you can play the golf course without staying at Westin or W, which is what we will do next year.
