Exceptional 10.0
Lovely hotel close to everything
The hotel felt calm, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was perfect. We had a lovely leafy courtyard. You can walk to all the shops and restaurants and the beach. It’s not close to noisy pubs, though. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well here. We found 2 excellent places to eat. O’Sushi is a very good Japanese restaurant next to Woolies in Johnson street. The Sashimi was excellent and service was fairly quick. We also ate at a Vietnamese place called Light Years at 17 Lawson Street (close to Waves) and the food was amazingly good. Very popular/busy place. I had Kingfish curry which was the best ever. Must visit here if in Byron If you have a car visit the lighthouse which sits high up with amazing views. Parking is limited so you may not be able right outside

Poor 2.0
Not worth over $200 per night
Photos on the internet DO NOT accurately depict the condition of the room. The bathroom had a lot of mildew on the tiles & roof. There was also peeling paint on the roof of the bathroom. The vent in the bathroom was covered in dust. The rug in the room was dirty. There was chipped tiles & furniture within the room. There were marks on all the walls, doors & even the blinds. And this is what we could see - I would hate to know what we couldn't see! Overall opinion of our room was 'grubby'. I'm sorry but I would hate for someone else to get caught out by thinking they were booking a nice room and then be disappointed like us.

Very good 8.0
Excellent location!
Pleasant staff and clean hotel. Rooms nice and bed very comfortable. There was no room in the fridge for own purchase of water and no ice making facility. The bathroom was nice although the shower is not designed for tall people. Being 6ft tall, washing hair was impossible with a bad back! The water pressure was pretty awful too but the bath was lovely. There was a smell emitting from the toilet though like a sewage smell, it needed some bleach to make it go away. We also had trouble getting the wifi to work in our room. Easy access to car park without having to go through reception each time. The hotel is just far enough from the main attractions so it is nice and quiet at night.

Very good 8.0
Spacious and great location!
Pleasant staff, large spacious room with private courtyard and bbq. Very comfortable and great location with underground secure parking. We were here for a wedding which was held at Elements. We decided on Waves rather then staying in Elements because of location and price, so glad we did as it was much easier to stay in town and be able to walk to bars, restaurants and shops literally at our door steps! Enjoyed the fresh muffins and coffee and tea bar each morning, a nice touch! A little dated in the rooms and some attention should be paid to chipped walls and wardrobe door runners which needs replacing or repaired, house keeping should report this to maintenance! Overall, will recommend!

Poor 2.0
A total desaster. The hotel reception did not acknowledge our Expedia booking we made for our clients although confirmed and paid. The had overbooked or messed up the booking in their reservation system. As you could imagine there is hardly any alternative in the Christmas holidays. The Hotel offered as an alternative a 3-star property in East Ballina - completely different location and not adeqate in standard at all. Summing up: Not recommendable!
