A wonderful old hotel. Very dated and needs some fresh carpet and furniture, but the room is enormous and the view is beyond compare. The bed is very comfortable. You get a wonderful breeze with all the windows. We love the housekeeper- she is so friendly and helpful

Once the most luxurious hotel in Veracruz.
This is a glorious old hotel that is a bit run down, but was likely the most luxurious thing in Veracruz back in the day. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, the staff is wonderful. It has a million dollar view of the harbor and the main square from your giant windows. You can hear music all around. It just needs some work, the carpet are run down, chairs looking very used, etc. I would come back.

The Hotel smelled very clean. I had a nice view of the plaza and church near by. One has to walk 1 to 2 blocks from the hotel to get a cab or public trans. The staff was very efficient, quick check in and out. Overall very nice.

Location, Location, Location!
It once was elegant but now need to upgrade! Friendly staff. Excellent location, in front of the Cacólos, where there are several restaurants and a historic or Church. Must eat at Gran Café Portals! The make in is a short walking distance. (The location is what makes it worth the money) Parking located across the street, safe and secure. Gym small, no a/c, most of what little equipment they had was broken. No service at poolside.

The hotel needs updating; some parts are lovely, others need revamping. Our room itself was lovely. On three sides of the hotel, the streets were under massive construction so it was very noisy and at times unsafe: open manholes nearby difficult to manuever around at times. That would have been helpful to know ahead of time. Housekeeping staff were lovely & helpful.

Great location
The hotel is in an amazing location. It’s across the street from The “Zocalo” where people eat at restaurants and dance to live music. It’s also a short walk to “El Malecon” which is a place that has MANY street vendors leading up to the Port of Veracruz. The hotel is beautiful inside and has an excellent restaurant. Front desk service was outstanding as well, be aware that airport transportation means they will call a taxi for you. The only issue I had was the bath tub/shower, it was moldy and had a very old shower head that barely worked.
