4/10 Fair

Had pre booked a standard double room for 2 people but on arrival was told only a reduced size double bed was available which in practice was a single bed. Only 1 set of towels provided for a booking of 2 adults. Stuffy room and with room window open courtyard noise was loud for the entire night. If you were a single person travelling in Dublin the accommodation might have been under other circumstances been considered adequate but not for 2 people.

Arrived and room wasn't cleaned, bed had been slept in, and loose hairs on the sheets. Reported to reception staff and they assured us that the room would be cleaned and made up by the time.we came back from dinner. It wasn't. Had to find a new room. Not ideal.

My first Travel lodge experience is mixed. The location of this one is good. About 20 minutes by bus to Albert Dock and city centre. Plenty of parking (free) for those who need it. Wifi has to be purchased. Staff is good but a few are novices. But friendly. The rooms are just about ok. They come with a kettle and coffee. No Tea! (This is England ) the AC works well. The bathroom comes with a combined hand body and shampoo wash. Period. Breakfast is free and quite good though you have just scrambled eggs. No choices, when asked for artificial sweetener the staff had to hunt. People with Diabetes please carry your own. Had some leftovers from lunch but they have a policy of never reheating food for customers. Strange policy. Will I come again? Don’t know. Oh there’s a Travelodge right at Alberta Dock.

I really liked the location, the only issue was the noise from outside.

Easily accessible to the main city centre for all the shops and tourist attractions, clean and well suited for a couple nights in the city.

OK bt uncomfortable
This is student accommodation and as such very basic. The bed had been well used and was very uncomfortable. For me it was OK for one night but if I was staying any longer I would look for another hotel. The reception staff were helpful.

Student accommodation with individual room with en-suite inside larger apartments with 5 rooms in each. Was pleasant enough. Shared kitchen and lounge in the apartment. Room a good size.

I stayed here for 1 night with my teenage daughter Was really surprised how good it was for the price We booked a double room with a private bathroom The room was spotless, very clean, there was 2 bath towels ( no bath mat after getting out shower or no hand towels though but that was fine for 1 night ) The bed was small, I think it was a bit smaller than a small double but again for 1 night it was fine As 2 females travelling we felt very safe staying here, it was security fob to get into reception and then again to access rooms On our floor there was a communal kitchen area with couches and a tv, it had a kettle and fridges There was no cups or spoons to make a drink but they had paper takeaway cups and stirrers in reception, you need to take your own tea/coffee etc The room itself was pretty hot so we left the window open I would stay here again it was great value for money and location was good Bus to the airport over the road from the hotel runs every half an hour ( 3 euro 50 for adult and child )

2/10 Poor

Possibly one of the worst places I have had the ‘pleasure’ of staying. The staff were friendly and the 24/7 check-in was convenient. However, this is where the positives end. The rooms were small (which is to be expected), but chipped paint work and holes in the wall are unacceptable for any establishment taking guests. Coupled with the unclean bedding and bin full of rubbish, this is not a place to be spending your money, you are much better off spending a bit extra and keeping well away. The area is loud (this is to be expected in Dublin) and the whole of Kavanagh court is tired and needing of a refresh. It is understandable that it is a student accommodation, but to offer this to external guests and not provide them with any toiletries/amenities is abysmal. Do yourself a favour and AVOID.

Disturbingly loud context
My room overlooked a noisy park and street with very loud fire crackers going off into the late night.

Perfect!
This was the perfect place to stay for a night, before heading out of Dublin. The staff were great, the place is nice and clean and it's in a very good location. You're not going to get a ton of amenities, but I didn't expect any and I had a nice workout in the gym. I would certainly stay here again, if available!
