Nice Hotel; Just a Little Quirky
Hotel Zoso was formerly the Hard Rock Cafe. It is right smack in the center of the Downtown, so it is very convenient to pretty much everything. Some of the rules date back to when it was wild and crazy, such as no coolers. So if you have medicine, refrigerated dog food, shakes, or happen to bring your own beverages, they do have a small number of refrigerators on hand, They are on a first-come-first-served basis. Make sure you inquire as soon as you check in. The refrigerators in the rooms have sensors and you cannot remove the ridiculously priced beverages. The free valet is great, but the limited staff available to handle the busy 4pm check-in time. You are left to wonder, what do I do with my car, because there are no other parking options. When the staff finally gets to you, they are lovely. The carpet smells funny, especially when it rains. I guess they have a severe leaky roof. There was also no sitting furniture in the rooms as pictured, except the office chair. It really has a lot of potential, but needs a lot of repairs and to be modernized, which the owner is either unwilling or unable to fix. During peak season, they charge $20 to enter the pool for an off-site party promoter, which seems weird because you already have to pay a “Resort Fee” for the pool and mediocre wifi Internet. Overall all it was a great stay and would probably stay there again, but be aware of all of its quirks.

Worst Hard Rock I’ve ever been to!!!! By a MILE!
First off AC did not work in room (93degs outsdide and warmer inside), had to sleep with sliding glass door open, then got the benefit of hearing all the bottles from all the bars next door being dumped in dumpster from 1:30-2:30am! We call the front desk over and over and over but they never answered the phone once after at least 8 calls and letting it ring for 5 min at a time. Bar does even have in total enough glass for every seat at the bar so they charge you $17.00 for a mixed drink in a plastic solo cup. Only 1 elevator worked for the entire hotel. We then complained in the morning at the front desk and asked for the manager. We were told the mgr. was in a meeting (this is Sunday, and Super Bowl Sunday at that who could they be meeting with?) and to come back later! Here we are complaining about the service and they tell us to go away and come back later. They did say that the mgr. would call us within an hour. 3 hours later NO call. So we drive back to the hotel and asked for the mgr. again. After about 20 minutes the mgr. came out with no idea we asked for them. 3 days later we got our money back. Stay Away unless you want to drop $385 a night for a standard room and have your worst hotel experience ever.

I had originally booked a deluxe 1 king bed room, My girlfriend and I were so excited to get there with and enjoy the amenities the hotel had to offer as listed in the description. When we got to the front desk the representative told us that the pool was closed and its under renovation, that apparently the room I had booked was sold out and that they "upgraded" us to a 2 queen bed pool view deluxe room! Now imagine my frustration and disappointment given the fact that I head the pool was under renovations. He didn't provide us with any assistance as to how to get to the room, until I had to ask him myself. As we were walking in the halls we noticed the uncleanliness of the facility, the walls were half painted, half peeled off, the floors were mottled and it was insanitary. As we got to the room I had wished I had never booked a room at this hotel. It was so disappointing, with a VERY UNPLEASANT view, and just like the halls the room had this odd smell. I was disappointed not only with the hotel but the fact that HOTELS.COM didn't update the site with the closure of the pool, the sold out room and so forth. I will no longer utilize this site to book my future reservations because when someone is so excited to get away for a day and has high expectations and they are not met it becomes doubtful. I am not happy and customer satisfaction is paramount. Please for future reference, gather more data with the hotels alterations and provide realistic information on your site.

It’s ok, but not as glamorous as it looks
I stayed with a friends Sunday and Monday night and it was almost like no one else was staying in the hotel. Check-in was easy and they even asked which floor I prefer. We were able to check in a few hours early because it had been so quiet that weekend. The room was as pictured and clean. Housekeeping did great and cleaned. They had fruit infused water at the front desk and water fountain, which was a must since they don’t provide complimentary water in the rooms. Carpets in hallways are old and in need of a deep clean as there are stains all over. Pool area also needs a good pressure wash. Some chairs are broken. No one picking up after room service as we walked past our neighbors all 3 days sitting out. No one really picking up around pool area, same Bloody Mary glass day there for 3 days. Saw one guy on Sunday pick up a few food plates and trays. “Amenities” didn’t try the club/lounge, restaurant was closed but you could order from the bar so still enjoyed happy hour, Chips and salsa was delicious. Pool bar also closed. Looked like inside bar opened around 1. Bartender was subpar Sunday afternoon. I would suggest at least walk around to the pool and try to offer drink service if it’s so quiet. Location is fantastic to restaurants and shops. valet was good. jacuzzi has children screaming Sunday and drilling and construction Monday.

Central in downtown Palm Springs
Hotel staff were very guest conscious, friendly and open. Kimmie helped us out greatly when we had to move from our room twice due to an excessive amount of rain within less than an hour. The water both times came in through the outside sliding doors and the second time was caused by engineering without notifying us that the carpet was wet. They didn't even notify anybody at the hotel that they caused this problem and left it for us to find out when we came back from a day trip. Needless to say, vey unhappy and Kimmie asked what she could do to make us happier. I asked her to comp all 5 days of our resort fee but she came back with comping only 2 days as she said that we were affected only by 2 nights of moves. I wasn't entirely pleased but still happy that she tried to help us out. The next day upon talking with her, she asked us if anybody had told us that she would also comp our breakfast for the next 2 days. Unfortunately, nobody had and we wouldn't have known unless we had run into Kimmie. My wife had breakfast that morning paying for it, not aware that it could have been comped. A for effort but needs to work on communicating these things to their guests so that we can appreciate their efforts. The entire staff from the shuttle driver from the airport to the front desk and housekeeping were very friendly. Thanks Kimmie for making our negative experiences a little better.
