Nice cabin. Great location. Only complaint is the bbq grill didn’t have propane. Was planning on using for dinner. Could have done a lil better job with the snow removal. Other than that great stay at a reasonable rate. And shovel the top balcony off. I know it’s cold but some people still like too enjoy them.

The location of the resort is stunning. The facilities were excellent : lots of boats, life jackets and sand toys. The staff worked hard to accommodate us and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay.

We stayed in the rustic cabin. Accommodations were good. I expected a real oven but the counter top convection oven served the purpose. Overall happy with everything.

Lake Saranac
We enjoyed our stay at the Oak house. View of lake and very roomy. Perfect for long weekend getaway.

6/10 Good

The townhouse itself was clean, however, there was laundry in washer, many insects on rugs, (which we vacuumed), and fireplace did not work

Beautiful spot on the lake
Beautiful spot on the lake! We stayed in a rustic cabin, which was fine for 2 nights. Parking was next to the cabin so very easy to unload the car. There are kayaks and canoes for guests to use, as well as life jackets available.

Great Adirondack retreat!
We stayed here for a family vacation and the place was great! I’m sure it’s different in the summer, and definitely a winter oasis. The only downsize was there wasn’t hot water in the shower downstairs it was warm but not scorching your skin hot like my husband likes! the basement where the two bedrooms were was cold but once you put on the space heaters they were cozy. The upstairs king room was “quite the room” and we called it all weekend. Such an Adirondack retreat. We’d love to go back!

Great place to stay with an amazing view. Could use some better cleaning practices. Cobwebs, leftover lipstick on a wine glass, ect. Otherwise great place to stay and only 15 from lake placid.
Bill, 3-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Our stay at Ampersand Bay was amazing - it was a special pleasure to have such a well tended beach area, with a stocked fire pit for an evening fire and access to canoes, kayaks and paddle boards whenever we wanted to use the water. The quiet and beautiful view were amazing. The cabin was spotlessly clean and well equipped except - no kettle or coffee maker! That was the only thing that was lacking.
Natalie, 3-night trip

4/10 Fair

Do not under any circumstances book the Rustic Cottages. Very seedy and need to be shut down. Fairly clean but so run down I’m surprised they pass inspection. Too many issues to list. Maybe the new cottages are ok and the setting is nice but I can’t say anything good about the Rustic Cottages!!

8/10 Very good

the lake view of the property is breathtaking, especially when you work up early in the morning. the location is convenient, 5 minutes to grocery and gas, 10 miles to lake Placid. it’s more quiet. there’s complementary kayaks, paddle board for the kids. Boats for rental is brand new and stuff very friendly. there’s live music on sat afternoon. taking a glass of wine by the lake front with camp fire, while kids playing right at the private, what else can you ask for a vacation? only one downside, the first night we arrived has no hot water. the property stopped by even it was late in the evening and they fixed it early the next morning. there’s steam room inside the main bathroom, so not too bad taking a cold shower. however, the dryer has no heat, so we can’t dry the kids wet clothes. this is the only complaint. otherwise, super good value staying here and much better than the crowded town. I highly recommend it.

4/10 Fair

The area itself and the lake are very beautiful. We really enjoyed kayaking and canoeing. However, as other reviews have noted, there are definitely some customer service issues. The main page on the website incorrectly claims that all of the rooms are air conditioned. When we arrived, it was an 85° day, and there was only one working fan in the entire three bedroom cabin. I texted and called the office and the after hours line, but never heard back. My husband ended up going out and spending $80 on two fans. The next day I called again several times before I reached someone, and they to put in a window unit for air-conditioning quickly, but it took a lot of work to get ahold of someone. The lake is not really swimmable. My children were able to wade in up to their knees, but after that it was filled with thick black seaweed that came all the way to the surface. We ended up going offsite in order to swim. Many of the amenities on the website were not available. In addition to the air conditioning issue, there were no paddle boards, which were advertised. The website also advertises yoga on the beach, but when I asked the office about it, the woman said she had never heard of it. This is technically a private lake, but on our last day a group of about 60 middle schoolers arrived on a field trip. Because of the size of the beach and limited amenities, we were unable to use the beach at all.
