Location & Comfort Great, but Tiny & Quirky Rooms
The room was stayed on was on the 6th floor and overlooked The Terrace. The windows can be opened which was fortunate as the ducted air conditioning had no controls & was either turned off or non-existent, so it was very hot in the room. The room was clean but tiny and we had no place to put our 2 open suitcases apart from on the floor which was hazardess as we had to keep stepping over them. There were also 2 steps up into the bathroom which was weird. The bed was very comfortable but the TV was placed in a very odd place on a bracket on the wall next to the bed so it was difficult to watch unless you were sitting at the small dining table. The remote control also didn't work so unless you are familiar with cable boxes you would find it difficult to operate the TV as the actual screen has no controls on it - it's basically a monitor. Parking can be pre-booked & costs extra. There are 5 parking spots from which you can access the hotel reception area but these spots require precision driving to get to as they are up a very steep ramp and are located on a wooden floor which is set at random, odd angles and the spots are really tricky to get into and out of. Unless you have a small car and most of the other cars are gone, it is nearly impossible to get your car out of a couple of the spots. There is another carpark located behind the hotel but no lift up to the hotel so you would need to lug your gear to the hotel lobby about 200+ m away. Hotel not suitable if mobility issues.

Good 6.0
We have 2 young children and from our experience this hotel is not suitable for young children (2 & 1 year old). The stairs in the foyer and the stairs to get to our room made it hard to get our pram up and down. Yet it had a ramp at the front? The room could not be locked from the inside, and it only had floor heaters which can not be used for a crawling baby and toddler. Hotel should invest in heat pumps which would also able the guests to monitor the room temperature. The room we had was very small which was made even smaller with big furniture. The kitchen had shelves which were to close together so they couldn't be used to put anything apart from items smaller then the height of a cup. The 2nd room only had a sliding door into the living area, not sure why it wasn't a door. Curtains in the rooms need to be darker, especially with the location of the hotel in the city and the neighbours in the building next door. Good points from our stay, the reception staff were very friendly! And the shower pressure was great and also the bedding and pillows were fansatic.

Handy to Central Wellington
With a unmarked step down just inside the unit, which caught my wife out a couple of times and myself once, we are both in our 70s. We were informed that all units were the same. The one window that opened allowed the traffic noise from the six or so motorway/ road lanes fill the unit. With about 25cm of space between the side of the bed and the wardrobe door there was not enough room to maneuver our suitcases into it, passed the upright fan, ironing board etc.that was inside the space. Our cases remained on the floor of the lounge. On a couple of occasions we were getting our evening meal ready when the staff came to change the towels. Our room was not serviced except for towels, tea, coffee etc. for the duration of our stay of 4 nights.

Work Zone
Arrived late afternoon after driving 6hrs with my wife and 3 other elderly relatives to find the entire building covered in scaffolding and mesh. Parking was non-existent given the extensive work but was arranged with the female front of desk staff member so thank you to her. We had booked 3 separate rooms and given the age of our parents, we were lucky for it to be on the first floor. Our room was ok but with the works or renovations to the outside of the building, our view was scaffolding, building debris and very unsightly. A simple email when we booked advising us of the works would have been appreciated as this would have given us the chance to look and book elsewhere. Bathroom facilities were quite small and 2 was a crowd. Ideally my wife and I didn't spend much time in our room but our relatives did and they were very displease on their first visit to Wellington.

Anniversary Trip
We have stayed in a Wellington Quest before and wanted to again but try a different one. The room was nice for two people. plenty of pillows, blankets, towels etc. had a full oven so made food choices easy. bathroom was nice enough and had all you could want. tv was in an odd place but due to the shape of the room understandable. was a good location and we had access to anything we needed. front desk staff were pleasant and helpful. The bed however was horrific. I had paid extra to go from a standard queen room to a king room. this was unfortunately two king singles shoved together with a king size sheet over it. we could not cuddle due to the lumpy mattress sides meeting in the middle and the bed was far too hard and hurt our backs to the point our trip was marred. It really needs overhauling of the bed systems and would not stay there again nor recommend it to anyone.
