Awful interior design
The most dark and dingy hotel I ever ever stayed in. No light and no windows (compared to photos on hotel.com with windows) and all the decor black and dark grey. Nowhere to hang towels/put suitcases. Shower felt as if in a caravan. Bed comfy tho.

8/10 Very good

My stay was very good, spoiled only by the fact that the room was advertised as having a tv which it did but there were no actual programmes on the tv. Being a solo traveller I like to have a tv for the news etc.

Good hotel
Nice hotel, great service. Good location for Wellington city centre and a great location for the Basin Reserve, clean hotel. My only negative was the hotel does not have a TV package and the WiFi is intermittent at best - I don't travel to watch TV so not a huge deal but it would have been nice to know what was happening.

2/10 Poor

Breach of terms - TV does not work - No cleaning
Its great to check out local news once or twice a day. On checking in I complaint that the TV with 40 channels was shown on Hotels.com and the supplied TV did not work. I complaint about not have a blanket and the management never replied. Daily I had to request milk.

10/10 Exceptional

Recommended stay - clean and quiet
Very clean, including bathroom. Internal room (no windows) was quiet enough, can hear louder conversation in the corridor and shower use in the room next door, but not to the extent that it awakes from sleep (this is coming from a light sleeper).

Not so friendly staff
The hotel is clean and well located in wellington. Staff was not friendly. Saw also several other costomers complaining. Reseptionist was rude, regarding parking options. It does not state in hotels that it is 35 dollar per night for parking. Very dissapointing breakfast. Had to argue for it when i had already paid in advance for it.

Should have changed rooms for one on a lower floor
Nicely appointed room except it was on the top floor with sloping windows so extremely warm. One side of the bed was under the sloping window so difficult to avoid bumping your head! Well situated for Te Papa museum and Inter Is!and ferry crossing

Everything that I need, at a good price
I seldom write reviews, but want to to address some reviewers concerns. 1. Self checkin was quicker than with a human being 2. The hold on a credit card to cover incidental costs happens in much of the world. Should be no surprise, and it goes away in a few days. 3. Perfectly new and sparkling hotel, with modern rooms. 4. Tiny window. Don’t care. I spent all day outside. 5. Literally never interacted with a staff member.

6/10 Good

A mixed experience in Wellington
Nothing drastically wrong with this place, but in my step away from B&Bs or motels whilst in New Zealand it was a bit disappointing. At check in they wanted NZ$100 deposit with no real explanation. I'd paid in full in advance. I've often given credit card details but never had money sat pending on my card for the duration of the stay and the next 4 days! They had advertised a laundry service that didn't exist (one of the staff didn't even know it had ever existed, despite one of the lift buttons saying laundry next to it). At least tis seems to have been removed from listings now but too late for me. One of the blinds in my room didn't work but they couldn't fix it that day so I ended up switching rooms for the second night to a smaller room. I hadn't realised you had to ask for housekeeping either and originally thought they hadn't touched first room because of the blind, Staff were all polite but clearly inexperienced and just following rules they'd been told. A pity as it could all have been better.
