Location was not as convenient as some city hotels, but as we had a car, it wasn't as much of an issue. The 'chocolate hour' afternoon tea was a welcome treat. We thought the icecream sundaes from room service were overpriced. The pool and sauna were great and the room was comfortable.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay: nice room, interesting rainforest-like view, nice pool to swim laps, nice to have the elevator reduce the steepness of the hill! Excellent service. We were charged for drinks that we didn’t order and with ‘no worries’ the charge was removed. Nice hotel.

It had unexpected little touches in the main communal areas: morning/afternoon tea, choc fountain at night, smelt relaxing. However the rooms were small and we were advised our room was a executive king but was in fact a standard twin. We enjoyed our time at Movenpick! Conveniently located while being out of the way of city traffic. We dined at the restaurant for dinner and the food/drinks were delicious. Staff were always very helpful. Chocolate Hour was especially appreciated after a long day of seeing the sites in Wellington. The only downside was the size of the room (most basic option) was smaller than expected from pictures and staying on the lower floors meant that we didn’t get to experience the beautiful views as much as we would have liked. But overall we enjoyed our time at the Movenpick!
