Great classic old hotel with tons of character! I had a superior double room on the fourth floor. The carpet and furnishings were a bit worn, but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The showerhead was nice but the water never got hot, just warm, which was a little odd. The room was quiet (the window opened to the inner space between buildings, so there was light but no street noise). The free wifi was blazing fast for a hotel (about 25mbps) and I had a good connection.
One thing to note is that although there is a little elevator, there are still a few stairs required to reach some of the rooms on each floor. I also didn’t see an elevator entrance at street level (though I may have missed it), you go up maybe 10 steps to reach the lobby.
Oh - there are no “do not disturb” signs, but instead when you put the key in the door from inside the room it pops out a little flag showing you’re in there. Neat!
Lastly, the service was excellent and friendly, and the location is great, just steps from the metro. I would definitely stay here again.
