We got off our cruise ship that morning and caught a cab to the hotel. I had called the hotel before we left for our trip and knew the check in wasn't until 4 pm and there was only a possibility that we could check in early and only after noon. We checked in and I asked the hotel clerk to hold our luggage so we could sightsee since we were only going to be in Montreal one day and it was our 45th wedding anniversary. We stopped in the lobby to check emails and check out the map the clerk gave us so we would know where we wanted to go. Before 10 am he walked over to us and said our room was ready and our luggage had already been delivered! We went to our room where the staff had made a sign to tell us happy 45th anniversary and had filled a basket with all kinds of goodies/water. We didn't expect it and it MADE OUR DAY!!! I can't tell you how much that extra effort meant to us!! You have a great staff, great rooms, great location and I will recommend the Marriott Residence Inn Montreal to anyone looking for a hotel in that area.

Rooms are very clean and beds are comfortable. Suite is a bit small but expected as it's in the middle of downtown. Even though it's small, it was very functional. The shower is amazing! Large shower with strong water pressure. The breakfast is fair (no omelettes) but at least they switch up the menu daily. Staff is nice and friendly and go out of their ways to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The location is awesome, right in the middle of everything. Metro train station was right in the corner and walking distance to tons of restaurants and shops. The only con about this hotel is the parking. It's around the corner from the hotel down a very narrow driveway. It was under construction so spaces were limited and very tight. Extremely easy to scratch up your car if not driving slow and careful. It is also several levels below ground. When we checked in, it took us 45 mins to sort out the parking since there was confusion regarding whether you can park for $17 if you don't move your car out or $28 if you want unlimited access. Turns out the parking garage didn't even let us park for $17. To avoid wasting more time, we just decided to pay $28 per night so we can at least park there, otherwise you'd have park a block or two away and we were not familiar with the rates and time (everything was in French). The hotel front desk staff (Eric) was extremely helpful. He went outside to try to talk to the garage attendant for us. Overall, a great stay. Highly recommend.

From initial greeting at desk; helpful recommendations for tours/dinner options, parking advice= superb! We arrived early ad parked in a parking garage, not expecting to check in. Veronika was very helpful! Helped us pay for our Hop-on Hop-off tour, reminded us to keep our parking ticket with us as the garage we used was an automated one and we would need the ticket to unlock the door to the garage for our really early departure. This, even though the hotel no longer recommends that garage ( they suggest the other one simply because it is staffed at all hours so any problem can be handled immediately). Thankfully we didn’t encounter any issues! Lobby has fresh coffee available in the morning as you head out; flavoured water in the afternoon—great since one ends up walking a lot! Breakfast was good-lots of choices. Tables were ‘bussed’ immediately= very clean! Hotel is in a great location ( we thought). Tour bus terminal for the HopON-HopOff was just a few blocks away. Sainte Catherine Street also just a few blocks. Subway station Peel was just around the block. We didn’t use the subway, but we did go to the subway to experience the underground shopping—immense!! Lots of restaurants and pubs within walking distance. Area felt very safe ( we were usually out until later ( noticed we were often the ‘oldest’ people walking around—most of the other pedestrians could’ve been our kids’ ages LOL) Would love to return—and would definitely book here again!!!!

Nice hotel well located
Overall we were happy with the choice of this hotel, which was well located and close to a subway station. Staff was very helpful and timely responded to our requests. Very nice free breakfast. Beds were very comfortable (except the sofa bed) and certainly the best beds we had during our 20-day trip in Canada and the US. Unfortunately a rollaway bed was not permitted, and although the room included two beds and a sofa, our 3 teenagers would have preferred a bed each. As in all hotels we have visited the sofa was terrible when used as a bed. No pool in this hotel, although we had read that there was one, but it seems it was an old posting (they used to have a pool). Ideal for a family of 2 to 4, more challenging for a family of 5 or 6 when booking one bedroom only.

Close to major tourist attractions
We took a 15 minute walk to this place from the central train station. We were welcomed by Lauren who was extremely cheerful, with excellent English and quickly guided us to all the major attractions. We are a couple with a 15 year old and the room was spacious. The size of the bed was massive plus my son had a sofa bed. The room is well equipped and you could cook a meal if need be. We went for breakfast on 3rd Sept and it was utter chaos! My wife asked for decaf coffee as the can was empty but it never arrived. The place was extremely crowded and we later realised that it was a public holiday and the reason for the chaos!!! The breakfast is very average and we have had better at other 3 stars. But apart from this, it is close to the train station, metro and the 747 bus to the airport. Nayanesh was very helpful too!
