About this home

Nestling in the hillside above Loch Ness with fabulous views, 'Log Ness' is the perfect retreat for guests looking for a rural Highland experience whilst being within reach of local amenities and the Highland capital of Inverness. Log Ness is a Finnish log house built in 2018 to a high standard with fixtures, fittings and furnishings also to a very high standard. The kitchen is particularly well equipped with a stunning Italian five-burner range, large fridge/freezer, microwave, 4-slot toaster, food processor and all the cooking utensils anyone could need. The sitting room has a beautiful vaulted ceiling with a large smart TV (operating off the cottage's Wi Fi) and a designer log burner which is completely self regulating for ease of use and creates a warm cosy environment on any cooler evenings - lovely to come back to after a long Highland walk. Every room in the house apart from the utility room to the rear has magnificent views over a huge expanse of Loch Ness and Meall Fuar-Mhonaidh, the mountain opposite. In the summer, a myriad of craft can be seen heading up and down the Loch or, with the aid of binoculars, you can pick out people walking in the mountains. There are three bedrooms, a double with its own separate door straight on to the decking (and those views!) and a further king size bedroom upstairs plus a twin room upstairs - all simply but stylishly furnished. Separating all the rooms upstairs is a large mezzanine where the best views in the house can be found with its elevated aspect and uninterrupted vistas over the surrounding area. There are two bathrooms. One is incorporated into the downstairs utility room with a shower and w.c. The other is upstairs with a large freestanding bath, separate shower and w.c. The downstairs utility also boasts a large Belfast sink, a washing machine, separate tumble drier and even a spin drier for doing quick hand washes. Outside there is a huge expanse of garden laid to lawn on the sunniest side, gravel to the other and lots of seating. Facing West, Log Ness enjoys sunshine all day in the summertime until it sets behind the mountains opposite late in the evening. Being situated in the village of Foyers means the the local pub, The Craigdarroch, is just a few minutes walk. Within a 15 minute walk guests will find the famous Falls of Foyers, the village shop, post office and ice cream emporium with the Waterfall Cafe next door. On the outskirts of Foyers Cameron's tearoom can be found and also Loch Ness Shores camp site with its gift shop and seasonal activities including boat and kayak hire and guided wildlife walks. At Foyers Pier, during the summer, there is a luxury motor boat offering Loch cruises and which can also be privately booked. Slightly further away is the iconic little town of Fort Augusts with its famous Caledonian Canal lock-gate system and, toward Inverness, the hamlet of Dores with its views almost the entire length of Loch Ness, pebble beach and the charming Dores Inn. Inverness itself is less than a half an hour drive away and the bridge to Skye approximately 2 hours. The area attracts visitors who are keen on outdoor activities both land and water based. The area is also teeming with wildlife including deer, badger, red squirrel, pine marten and many birds of prey. All these are regularly sighted in and around Foyers. Log Ness offers a very special base for the discerning visitor to this beautiful and relatively undiscovered corner of Loch Ness. Although ideally
situated for touring in all directions Log Ness is so cosy it would be easy to just sit in front of the log fire or on the expansive sheltered decking enjoying the views and the birdsong!

    Absolutely outstanding

Wow, what a fantastic property! A well equipped home on a very private large plot. As soon as you see that view, you can’t help but fall in love with it. Would absolutely recommend this to anybody!

    Half Term Holiday

Sian was a joy to deal with. Very helpful from the day we booked. The property is stunning. I would highly recommend it for anyone just looking to get a little bit of luxury in the middle of nowhere! Possibly a bit remote for some people and we did have a challenge trying to push a buggy around. There’s lots of walks, but none that are particularly buggy friendly! The views from inside and outside of the house were amazing and it felt like we had so much space and privacy on our doorstep! Would definitely come back here when the little fella is a bit more mobile.

    We loved Log Ness!

We had such an amazing time at Sian & Phil's fantastic accommodation. It's the perfect location to have a peaceful and relaxing holiday while still have lots to do in the surrounding area. The views across Loch Ness from Log Ness are superb and we were in awe as we drove up to the property on arrival. Although the property is only a few minutes walk from the very good local pub, Falls of Foyers, and the Waterfall cafe, it feels very remote and private - exactly what we were looking for. The accommodation had everything we needed for an unforgettable family holiday and Sian was the perfect host. We would highly recommend this accommodation. Thank you! Ross, Jenny, Archie & Rory.

    WOW!!!

Absolutely incredible. Thank you so much Sian and Phil for such an incredible week. We were completely lost for words from the moment we pulled up, the photos just do not do it justice. It is just beautiful. The location. The cabin. Everything. Thank you to Paula the housekeeper as well for making sure the place was clean and tidy for our arrival, the place was spotless. Would highly recommend to anyone thinking of booking, this place is just stunning. Will definitely want to visit again in the future! Thank you so much! :)

    Location, location, location! Fabulous!

This property has everything. A breath-taking view over Loch Ness with its ever-changing scene, fabulous sunsets and ever changing cloud formations. Plenty of space around you and no one else in sight. Above all peace, quiet and luxury. Log Ness offers the highest specifications throughout. It is very well equipped with utensils for the enthusiastic cook. An array of spices was on offer for the curry enthusiasts. The beds are very comfortable leading to good sleep and shower facilities excellent. The hot water never failed us. There are many options for outdoor seating and a store with cushions and outdoor games. Dog friendly. Every possible need had been considered inside and out. Sian was a very gracious host and special thanks must go Paula, the housekeeper. She was quick to respond when needed and her local knowledge and recommendations were invaluable. We thank you Paula for your patience and generous support. We would highly recommend Log Ness to all and would certainly book again if ever making a trip to Scotland from Suffolk. Fantastic house in a stunning setting.

Log Ness is a beautiful house with amazing views over Loch Ness. It is spotlessly clean, comfortable and well equipped with everything you'll need for your stay. There's also a lovely garden with plenty of outdoor seating where we sat watching deer grazing in the drive. Magical. We would definitely recommend this special place.

    We will be back!

Sian and Phil's place is just amazing. I am super picky and could not find fault in anything at Log Ness. The views are stunning whatever the weather through the massive full height windows. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need on holiday including a huge fridge freezer. The beds were very comfy and we slept really well. There are beautiful walks directly from Log Ness down to the Loch and also to the Falls at Foyers. We can highly recommend calling in at the Waterfall Cafe in Foyers for either breakfast, cake and coffee or even Fish and Chips which they stay open late on a Friday evening to serve. Sian and Phil allow four legged friends to stay too and our elderly Labrador has come home with a spring in his step after all the fresh air and swims in Loch Ness. The wildlife on the doorstep is great to watch......red squirrels, red deer and even a slow worm! We had never been to the Highlands before and are most definitely coming back next year.....where will we stay? Log Ness for sure. Thanks for a wonderful holiday, we have some lovely memories to treasure.
