Look, keeping in mind Loch Ness In a 3 star the hotel is what you would expect which is acceptable and some might even say cute with a great breakfast option. Just be aware if you like a quiet environment and fresh air then you should consider the below. The problem with the ground floor rooms is that they’re surrounded by 360 degrees of noise makers. Above you, you hear the residents walking around. In front, you have the Inn entrance (right next to your door) as well as the walking path for everyone to access, the pub smokers area and a construction site. And behind you, have what seems to be a staff hangout area and a car park beyond that. There’s no cooling or air options here unless you open a window. Windows have no fly screen wire so you increase your risk of sound and insect bites if you do open. My suggestion to staff would be: To make a signpost and make residents and passerbyers aware that people are in these rooms and may be trying to sleep. The one true negative experience for me was the pub / restaurant. First night of my stay I had a great meal, beer and conversation with the locals and travellers alike. The second night I went out of my way to come back because of my good experience to walk back into the pub ask to order food from their pub meal menu, to have them say no and told me to go elsewhere. Not the greatest experience for a staying-customer. As a solo traveller the pub meal option was great for my booking, didn’t realise it was gamble.

    Amazing stay, highly recommended.

I’m never on to write a review unless the stay has either been awful or exceptional, this was the latter. What a great little find. Being a Hilton advocate, knowing what I’m getting, I’m always dubious about a change of habit, I’ve strayed from the path occasionally & been bitten by it. However, The Loch Ness Inn reinstalled my faith in the independent side of the hospitality sector. I was travelling with my 11 year old on a short 3 day break before Xmas, the Inn was perfect. We were warmly welcomed and check inn was quick and easy. The room was clean, fresh & spacious with USB ports in the plugs, bonus! 😁. We booked a table for the evening in the restaurant, it was busy but not overly, the fire was on, it had a cosy & welcoming feel. The food was fresh, tasty & reasonably priced, we were content so retired for the evening & had a great nights sleep, it was peacefully quiet outside. The shower was powerful which is often not the case. Breakfast was cooked to order, was again tasty, no complaints from us. In summary this is a great place to stay in an amazing location and very reasonably priced. I would definitely stay here again & highly recommend it!

    Good for a night’s stay!

The bldg is older/quaint, but clean and well located to Loch Ness’s tiny town. Staff was very very friendly and breakfast was filling/delicious! WiFi strong, quiet area and a hot shower- it ticks the boxes.

    Ness-cessary for a visit

On arrival, very friendly and helpful staff. Very large and comfortable bedroom. Everything was spotlessly clean. We ate our evening meal here and it was delicious. In particular the homemade soup. The best soup I've had in a long while. Spacious car park and the hotel is in an excellent position for sightseeing. Would highly recommend to other travellers.

    Great trip to the island

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and enjoyed the hospitality, the area and the food for breakfast and dinner. The employees were very helpful in their suggestions on things to do during our time there and they made sure that everything was good for our stay. The hotel is near the Fairy Glen and other hiking and is convenient to Portree.

    Super inn in Drumnadrochit

The restaurant was great and the food was lovely. The atmosphere was relaxed, the decor Scottish contemporary and the service professional.

Lovely inn, great location with accessible rooms

Lovely inn and great location, only a mile from Urquhart Castle. Accessible room and roll-in shower were good though shower has 2 ft high partitions with swing-away doors so not sure if this would work for those needing full carer assistance. Restaurant appears very popular and fully booked so we had dinner at nearby Benleva which turned out to be an unexpectedly excellent foodie experience. Breakfast included at inn was excellent. Staff were not super friendly but they were efficient and responsive. Would consider using as a base for future visits to the area.

Ideal hotel for stay on Loch ness

Our stay was excellent from start to finish, simple check in online which meant just picking up the room key. Room was spacious and clean. Bed was comfy and shower nice and powerful. We had dinner in the restaurant which again was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful throughout stay and ended with a very good breakfast. Would highly recommend.
