The multi-level market is only a 5-minute walk from Lagos Marina and has an abundance of fresh fish on the ground floor and a variety of local produce upstairs. You’ll also find olive oil, spices, wines and even a delightful café where you can grab a coffee.

    After stocking up on groceries, skip across the street to Mercado Paseo Maritimo to browse through souvenirs. You’ll spot textiles, handbags and much more while strolling along the seafront promenade. Gaze at the passing boats in the canal or continue down the walkway to the nearby beaches.

    Rua Candido dos Reis

    Olaria Nova crafts some of the most artistic ceramics in the Algarve. The shop is on the vibrant R. 25 de Abril in the historic centre of Lagos.     Viv'o Mercado

    Open-air organic market

    A trip to Viv’o Mercado in Lagos will treat you to some of the freshest organic produce in the Algarve. While only open on Wednesdays, check out to see if they’re hosting other events during your visit. The staff’s mission is to bring organic products to local communities in a warm-hearted, entertaining environment. In the market’s weekly gatherings, you’ll find pubs, musical performances and entertainment suited for children.

    Viv’o Mercado takes place just behind the bus station on Av. dos Descobrimentos, near Mercado de Levante. Besides local produce, vendors offer gluten-free bread, fruit smoothies, and artisanal beer the onsite food court.
