2/10 Poor

Overcharged me for a poor experience

When we arrived, it wasn't clear where we needed to go. There was no signage. You needed to enter through a first-floor restaurant, which was locked despite being during check-in hours. I called the hotel number, and they said they did not have our reservation (made through Hotels.com and paid for), and I had to make a new reservation. However, they would not honor the price through Hotels.com. Their listing on Hotels.com indicated the mattress was a pillow top. It was not. The pillow top mattress was the reason I selected this hotel. Finally, our room was above the bar, and they had karaoke running past 9:00 p.m. The music was loud enough to make watching TV unreasonable. It was a poor experience that overcharged me by $53.

My Room was small was waiting to have breakfast since it was included and no breakfast was offered

6/10 Good

The service at the property was sub optimal or non-existent. The rooms were quite small for the price. The bathrooms had few bugs on the ceiling. It was noisy and you could hear your neighbors. We had multiple rooms booked, including their presidential suite. It was a two bedroom apartment with only one bathroom. Even the breakfast included was quite basic so we did not choose to eat there the next day. It lacked quality overall and it seems since the hospitality group took it over, it’s lacking staff. We went to nearby restaurants and they were packed with awesome service and food. Overall people were nice, though the property is very overrated and costly. The owners should add more staff and reward those working there. The surrounding areas of the town is beautiful. We will look to explore other areas for our next stay. Thank you for all the help.

6/10 Good

Probably will not stay here again.

Be aware of a few things before you stay: 1. The rooms are accessed by steep narrow stairways only. Not good for older folks or people with issues climbing stairs. Also we were given the wrong room key so I had to climb these steps several times to the 3rd floor in order to get it straightened out. 2. The guest services desk rairly has anyone there and after 9 pm, nobody from the hotel is onsite. 3. You have to go to another hotel a few blocks away for the complimentry breakfast. It was good though. 4. The room we had required you to unplug the refrigerator in order to use the coffee machine due to limited number of outlets. 5. The hotel has limited parking, so if the bar is open and you leave the property and come back you will have to park far away on a side street. 6. The window airconditoner barely keep the room cool on an 80 degree day. We had to open the door to the room in order to let the cool air in the hallway in to help cool off the room. The positiive things are: 1. Room and building was clean and it looked like the furniture was fairly new. 2.The staff was friendly. For the price per night it was disappointing.

2/10 Poor

I will start with a pro. Nice quiet neighborhood. Cons list is unfortunately very long. The hotel smelled of gas every day during our five day stay. It was so bad that my husband developed a headache. We alerted the hotel staff of this twice and nothing was done. Apparently it’s an ongoing issue. We had to sleep with windows open every day and it was 30 degrees outside at night. Next there are the bugs. Water bug carcasses found everywhere in the room including bathroom. The room didn’t appear to have been freshly cleaned prior to our arrival. Then we have the shower. The mold coupled with the fact that the tiles are almost falling off the wall were just awful aspects of the bathroom. Add to that, the bathroom is basically the size of a closet. All three of us were hesitant to have to use the bathroom due to the mold, size of the bathroom, and the water bug carcasses in there. Breakfast is not available on site (you have to walk or drive around the corner to the other hotel for breakfast). It’s only for two hours so we never made it for breakfast. I had hoped that since ehe hotel is located above a restaurant that breakfast from that restaurant would be included. But the restaurant was closed for a majority of our trip. The keurig machine was dirty as was most of the room (candy wrappers were found behind the dresser and under the bed and room was a bit dusty. And lastly, housekeeping only came one day during that trip. And I was in the room so they couldn’t clean.

6/10 Good

Everything was fine, but there was just a too many weird things about this place. First, there is never anyone working the front desk. We went to check in, only to find an empty building and all the room keys laying on the desk. We had to call and someone came down from the other hotel they own. The lady was very nice and apologetic. She said they are so understaffed and don’t have anyone to work that particular desk. She then hands me the key without checking any identification or even taking a credit card, which to me is weird, but luckily I’m the person I say that I am. Next thing was the room, which again was fine, after we killed the half dozen flies buzzing around in there. It was comfortable and clean otherwise. The bathroom was very small and the hot water in the shower cut out every minute or so, again just weird. I’d definitely stay at their other properties, but probably not here again.

Excellent experience! Love the restaurant and walk ability to town.
Erin, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

The rooms in the hotel are on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors above a bar/restaurant and there is no elevator. You walk into the front door of the restaurant and walk right up to your room. When the restaurant closes at 9:00pm, you have to open the front door to it. The room itself was nice and the bed and pillows were comfortable. But the bathroom was the size of a closet. Sitting on the toilet will put your knees into the wall and the shower stall was banged up by my elbows with only the small bathroom as the only mirror in the whole room for us to get ready. It's okay for a one night stay, but would be an issue for longer than that. We didn't utilize the breakfast as it's served at a completely different location a few blocks away.
Jolen, 1-night trip

I wish we had known that we had to go to the other hotel to check in! We drove right past it to get to La Posada only to have to turn around and get back in the car and drive back. . Not a huge deal just would love better communication
