We stayed here for 4 nights the first week of December. This is high season for the holidays so it was very expensive (approx $525/night!). We chose the Hilton Club because of how close it is to everything and its easy access to subways. You have multiple subway lines within 1-2 blocks of the hotel. This location is ideal for all sorts of sight-seeing; Central Park is 5 blocks north, Fifth Avenue shopping is one block East, Rockefeller Center is 3 blocks south, and restaurants are all around you (from inexpensive to pricey).
Our hotel room was on the 38th floor with fabulous city views. The room was quite large for a NYC hotel room, with a glass separation between the bed and the seating area. There was a table and two comfy chairs, and a large comfortable bed near the window. The room was very clean. The room was quiet at night. We didn’t hear any loud noises from the hallway or nearby rooms.
The bathroom was nice, but a bit worn in places. The shower was roomy and had good water pressure and hot water. The toilet had the worst flushing pressure I’ve ever seen in a toilet. It barely had enough force to flush things.
Finally, we happened to be staying in the hotel the day the CEO of UnitedHeathcare was shot to death outside the side entrance of the hotel. Everything inside the hotel continued as normal after the shooting. Gotta love the adaptability of folks in NYC!
Overall: Would I stay there again? Not at this price. But if it were in the $250-300 range I would.
