I was very enthusiastic about staying in this hotel but I ended up very disappointed. We were staying in another hotel in Vancouver, but decided to spend the last night in the Sandman hotel because it had a kitchenette, because it had two pools and a slide, and because it was near the airport so we changed hotels and left the previous one at 11 AM and arrived at noon at the Sandman. They said they could not give us a room until maybe 2 PM so we went to have lunch at Denny’s and then came back at 2:00. Still they said they did not have a room available so we waited 30 minutes more and then they gave us a room. I did not like the room. I was surprised that it had a carpet. This is very rare on rooms with kitchenette. The carpet and kitchen floor were sticky and the bathroom smelled very bad to urine and it got clogged. This is not the cleanliness and service that one expects in a four-star hotel.
