Basic but very convenient
Very expensive city so we accepted shared bathroom. Although seemed only one bathroom per floor,we only had to wait twice in 3 days. Breakfast was excellent - they opened early for us when we had an early start tour. So convenient to transport, however probably faster to walk to Canada place than the metro- about 10 minutes. Would be happy to stay again

Good points - good location, room very basic but fine if you just need a place to sleep Bad points - blinds do not block out light from the hallway, it was quiet when I stayed but I imagine the rooms would not block out noise of other guests

Friendly, Clean & Fantastic Location!
As we were travelling on a budget we opted for the shared bathroom. I was a bit nervous as haven't been in a hotel with this option but it actually worked out really well. The rooms and the two different bathrooms we used were immaculately clean. Other rooms are available with ensuites. The hotel is family run and you can really tell they have been doing their trade for a very long time. The service from the front desk was warm and friendly, keen to help in any way with questions. The hotel is well maintained and is one of the very few left in Vancouver in it's original fittings and condition. It really felt like you were at home. Wifi worked really well. Breakfast was simple yet tasty and filling with cereal, bagels etc. The service was great from the front desk Location is outstanding. We were in the front of the hotel next to the road and it was very quiet (and there was roadworks outside too). Across the road and to the right is a full service IGA with ready made hot meals, a huge arrange of sandwiches, soups and curries. Two stores down is the famed Tim Hortons (I miss you already!):) Two block walk the opposite way will find the Railway Station including Canada line to YVR airport. Very easy to access. My daughter and I highly recommend The Kingston Hotel. I would definitely book again!

Mice in room
Selling this accommodation as a hotel is misleading. The room was small and the bed was less than the size of a full bed. There was no air conditioning and the window was very small. It was very warm inside with no air movement. You cannot open the window for fresh air because the loud noise coming from the adjacent bar/restaurant is deafening. Not to mention the noise from the construction outside. Several people checked out earlier than expected after seeing mice running around in the rooms. I complained three times about the mice and was told that this is due to the construction next door. Awful stay. Breakfast is very basic with limited seating.

Great hotel downtown!
Stayed here for a week and I loved it! Wonderful historic boutique hotel in the heart of Vancouver. Pros: 1. Location is near everything! Close to Stanley Park, CF Pacific Centre, Canada Place, Steam Clock, Harbour, China Town, BC Place, and 15 min drive to the Capilano Suspension Bridge. Also many fast food restaurants near by so easy to get food. 2. Breakfast is included: They offer toast, bagels, juice, coffee/tea, jams 3. Great customer service! Front desk was very helpful and knew all the answers to my questions. Cons: 1. Since it's downtown it's not the quietest. You can hear whats going on outside all the time and since it's an old building, you can hear the people next door, upstairs and people in the hallway. 3. Only a few rooms have their own bathrooms. Everyone else has to share one. Each floor has one bathroom with one shower and toilet also in the sauna. But for the price of the hotel and the location it's worth it. 4. The rooms do have sinks in them but you have to keep holding the faucet knob to keep the water running. Also there is only one outlet in the room and no AC just one fan provided. Lastly, the bed was uncomfortable since it's probably old. I was only in my room 20% of the time during my trip since I was always out. So basically if you just looking for a place to sleep, this hotel is worth it especially since it's a great location.
