"We stopped for an overnight stay at the Royal Oak. It was a really friendly and traditional pub serving lovely food and ales. Staff were incredibly friendly and warm. We had dinner in the restaurant and breakfast, both of which were delicious. The accommodation is situated in a small village location, very quiet but lovely. It was exactly what we wanted. If I have any complaints it was the bedrooms were a little on the cosy side, but adequate enough for the two of us. "

The location of the farm is truly remarkable, offering a perfect blend of tranquility in the open fields, while still being conveniently close to nearby attractions and amenities. It was a delight to experience such a peaceful retreat with the option to easily venture into town. "Very friendly reception from the landlord Gareth who provided a most enlivening atmosphere in the Duke of Wellington ie a darts match for the men and Easter wreath making for the ladies. No food unfortunately but we found an excellent Italian restaurant in nearby Northallerton. The courtyard room was clean and comfortable, marred only by a very awkward shower - not easy to enter, due to lack of space."
