A lovely place to stay. So bustling during the day, but so tranquil after the day-trippers have left. Gorgeous scenery especially around Mount Misen and beautiful views along the waterfront.

Good
Would not stay on Miyajima Island again if I visit Hiroshima. Multiple solid, inexpensive hotels on mainland. Miyajima a good day visit.

The island is wonderful, well worth visiting. But try to avoid this hotel, unless you are desperate to waste money.

We didn't do much in Hatsukaichi but it was very convenient to the ferry to Miyajima.
"What a great ryokan experience! Definitely a highlight of our trip. This was our introduction to an onsen and it was perfect. The meals are a must! The food is so fresh and delicious. The staff are so friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend the Grand Hotel Arimoto and would come again."
"The staff were wonderful. Lovely family hotel that had a great ambience. The food was exceptional and onsens lovely and relaxing. Wonderful location and easy access to Miyajima island. "
"Beautiful hotel on a beautiful island, my family only stayed one night but it was enough to fully enjoy the traditional japanese style of living; The futon beds were very great!!! And the traditional dinner and breakfast provided was a unique experience for us all, we loved it! "
"The Miyajima Hotel Makato was an absolutely excellent experience. Their customer service was the best I have ever seen in my life! They were very helpful with every need and request. I absolutely would stay here again! The only thing I would change was the type of room. Make sure you want to stay in a traditional room if that is what you want. It is what we requested and was so cool. Next time I would stay in a modern room. They were excellent!"
"We had a truly memorable stay at the beautiful Kinsuikan in Miyajima. The property itself is in an incredible location, a very short walk from the ferry with spectacular views. The amenities are excellent and include a complementary streetside coffee bar, as well as a rooftop terrace with free beverages and snacks. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay. We were lucky enough to experience several different rooms and suites. The suites are spacious and luxuriously appointed. It was wonderful to come home to the Kinsuikan after a day exploring the island and I would highly recommend this ryokan to anyone visiting the area."
