Very good overall. Felt safe and welcome as a solo traveller in the bar. Shame they had run out of Aperol and didn’t seem able to just buy locally and I wasn’t the only one to ask. However, staff were friendly and I really enjoyed my stay.

Beautiful hotel
Beautiful hotel in spacious grounds, full of character and fascinating history. Our room was in the main building, modern furnishings, clean and comfortable. We ate in the bar which was excellent. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Staff are helpful and welcoming. Great stay. Will return.

A great example of Tudor living.
Overall the stay was comfortable and fairly priced. The grade 2 listed is of great standing and looks. While you walk around this Tudor house and grounds feeling you’re brushing with the past. The food, is of a great standard and size. The down side to our weekend here, was being woken up at 11.30ish with the sound of the bar emptying its bottles in the collection bin and the same thing Sunday morning at 7.30. No thoughts of quietly. The second night kept awake by the neighbouring bedroom left the bathroom light on and the extractor fan droned all night, which I only realised it was them, after they got up and used the bathroom and turned it off. A polite notice in the rooms to prevent this would be very courteous, to other residents.

6/10 Good

Property was dated, lack light in the public areas and felt like a conference centre rather than a hotel. I also dont believe we got the superior room I booked as it seemed like a basic double.

Poor customer service.
This hotel is in a lovely setting in a stunning building. Unfortunately there was a large wedding the night we stayed and our room was directly above the nighttime disco! The music went on until midnight. When I mentioned our poor nights sleep at reception when we checked out next morning I was assured that someone would be in touch. Despite contacting them again no one has responded. If you are going to stay here make sure you ask for a quiet room!

Really enjoyable hotel
We booked this hotel as the rate at the Four Seasons, where we had been invited to a reception, was rather excessive. Comparing the two, actually Elvetham was a lot nicer. Why? Because it had a huge amount of history and was full of character. Four seasons was of course top quality, but at the end just another modern hotel. The staff at both were very helpful. but here Elvetham had the edge here as well. They were so good. Well done to Elvetham!
