Grandma’s Marathon at Motel 6

The helpfulness of the staff was the real highlight of staying at this hotel. The room was adequate. The quality of the bed was not great, but not uncomfortable. The amenities were also adequate. Once again, the standout was the enthusiasm and helpfulness of the Front desk staff. They were very accommodating to all of the runners that came to participate in grandma‘s marathon.

Good for what it is- A no frills hotel with supposed “renovations.” A shower curtain that won't stay closed, pipes that whistle like a tea kettle, outlets painted over, cracked sink, and the always fun cigarette-burned sheets. But the front desk was super nice and maids did a good job. The diner next door is excellent.

I have stayed in numerous Motel 6's around the country, and I must say, this was probably the best I've stayed in. The room was spacious, and came with a fridge and a microwave. The shower had piping hot water, and decent pressure, and the heater worked well. The bed was pretty good, too.

I liked the room. It was clean. I liked that the front desk called and asked if everything was good. Just need to clean up the butts by the entrances and better lighting in the hallways.

There are lots of good breweries and little restaurants within walking distance, located right off one of the main highways into Duluth so it was super easy to locate. There was also a nearby gas station that was convenient for snacks and gas!
