One night stay.
Typical hotel room. Neat and tidy, good modern bathroom, good access to television and subscriber services, nice park opposite and reasonable access to cbd. Bed was a bit hard and road noise can be quite intrusive (ear plugs provided). Breakfast was good but restaurant doesn’t open on Sunday.

Disappointing Stay: Poor Service and Safety Concen
We booked a 2-night stay at this hotel and were very disappointed with the experience. Our flight was delayed, so we arrived late to find the restaurant closed and no room service available. We had to resort to ordering Uber Eats. Upon entering our room, we found it unbearably hot, and the air conditioner wasn’t working. We immediately called for assistance and were told someone would come up within 15 minutes. After a frustrating wait, someone finally arrived but could only offer a desk fan as a solution. When we asked to change rooms, we were told the hotel was fully booked. Feeling unsatisfied, we checked Hotels.com, where we miraculously found a room available. This raised serious concerns about the honesty of the staff. Adding to this, the car park was nearly empty, which further suggested that the hotel wasn’t actually fully booked. Being lied to in this way was extremely disappointing. The “deluxe” room itself was very basic, with slippery bathrooms and showers that felt unsafe to use. For the price we paid, we expected much higher standards of comfort and service. Overall, our stay was frustrating and far below expectations. Poor customer service, a lack of honesty, and safety concerns make it impossible to recommend this hotel. Save your time and money and choose another option.

We love the Grand Chancellor Hobart, the location is perfect, with fantastic views and walking distance to a multitude of restaurants, and to Salamanca Markets. The location is easy to find and is easily accessible.

This hotel needs someone on duty at night to deal with the idiots my wife and I had to put up with at 2.30 in the morning through till 4 . I had to call a mobile number to get someone to deal with it. I won’t be staying there again.

I had a nice view from my window over a park and some parts of town. It was within walking distance of the main part of town and other tourist areas. I went for breakfast around 8.30 and found that there were not a lot of choices for the continental breakfast. I also had to ask for a bowl and spoon, few cups left and food not replenished.

When booking ask for a back room. Quite noisy next to the road. Limited tea, coffee, etc in room. Parking is difficult at night as it is so busy. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Room was very modern, location close to town was great, free parking and staff was friendly and helpful. We chose a room facing the park but did not realise that Brisbane St is a busy road - for those wanting a quieter room, there are rooms facing the other way.

The Mercure is a nice property. The room was clean and the AC was very quiet. However the service in the restaurant was marginal and VERY slow.

This property was great. As a female travelling alone, I didn’t feel extremely safe due to the lay out of the building. I felt it was a bit too open and easily accessible from the street. The room was clean, tidy and plenty big enough for me. Double glazing of the windows would have been great as noise from the street was quite loud.
