You get what you pay for: great service at a cost

Facilities, access to station, key attractions, breakfast (especially the breakfast !), perfect. However, as always, you get what you pay for: this hotel is not for those with a tight budget, there is no two way about it, it was expensive (1 night for 3, including a child, with breakfast, end of July, 330 euros).

Good base for a visit to Berlin - next to the main station, and the tourist buses stop right outside the hotel. Comfortable room with excellent shower in bathroom, and good breakfast. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Would use again.

The Steigenberger am Kanzleramt in Berlin as hotel was as good as always. Not acceptable: The pushing around between Expedia and the hotel about canceling a second room I booked inadvertently while comparing different offers. Am I now stuck with 350 Dollars? Neither fair nor "kulant", just schrecklich/ terrible.

Lovely hotel close to the train station. I loved the breakfast and sauna room. The sauna room is non-textile so you will have to be nude. We were initally given a twin bed however the reception quickly rectified the situation and gave us a double bed with upgrades. Great service and will definitely come back.

Overall, I really like the hotel, the location next to the train station and the view of the German 'Regierungsbezirk', as well as the rooms, the sauna and the bar. This time I was disappointed about the lack of VIP recognition, problems with parking (the garage of the Steigenberger was full) and an annoying sound in my room that I reported. But the staff was very nice, though they did not manage to get a technician to come until the second day (sound went away for a few hours but came back). The bar was packed because the restaurant is closed and I left after waiting for over 15 minutes to order a drink.

The room was very large, top notch. High ceiling. Coffee machine was Nespresso, excellent. Huge bed. Many comfy pillows, important for us as we arrived transatlantic and had to catch up on sleep. Bathroom was large and superb. Shower had rain head and hose spritzer - great. Shower large enough for two ;) Separate lighted mirror for makeup/shaving. Large TV, with multiple language stations. Strange but comfy lounge chair. Location next to main train station ideal for an early getaway. Yummy cucumber water in lobby. Staff very pleasant.

Too old for the reputation. The staff is not friendly, and the breakfast menu is not great. The room is not comfortable and warm. But the price is too high, including the city tax. Study how other hotels in the neighborhood operate. It's not very cost-effective. I'm even more angry because I stayed for five nights. I wanted to pay this price and get more friendly service. What a disappointing place.
