Perfect in every way
Our third trip to Florence. We originally stayed at the Bellettini, which was part of the same Palazzo but is no more. Via Dei Conti is perfectly sited for The Duomo, Medici Chapel, The Uffizi and all the major city centre sites in Florence. We found Firenze Number Nine Wellness Hotel and realised it was on the same site. From arrival the experience could not have been better. The staff are welcoming and totally helpful, the hotel is modern and beautifully appointed. Being in the city centre the building is enclosed by other buildings on all sides with a central open courtyard giving light to the rooms not facing the street. Our room on the first floor had a private balcony overlooking the courtyard and the Spa below. The room was spacious with a huge en suite bathroom containing a wet room shower etc. We were B&B and breakfast was in the restaurant bar area. A very comprehensive buffet was available and cooked meals were available (I did not try one) but they looked good. This trip was for my wife's birthday and on the morning, at breakfast the waitress came up with a cake topped with fresh fruit and a candle (I'd said nothing) a superb touch showing the level of attention and customer care. There are spa/gymnasium facilities attached to the hotel, which we did not use but from comments we heard and visual evidence it is well used and appreciated. Overall the hotel is stunning, the staff magnificent and the location beyond compare.

FLAWLESS - 10 STARS
Firenze Number 9 is a spectacular hotel where every detail is thought through. IT is very close to Santa Maria Novella Train Station (5-6 minute walk) or 8 euro cab ride. It is steps from the Duomo and from tons of amazing restaurants. The location could not be better. From the moment you enter the door, you notice the details. There is no check in desk, but rather a sitting room with couches and water where the staff come to chat with you. It's very informal and they recognize that you may be tired from your journey. Our room was gigantic (approximately 25 feet by 20 feet - room 107) with a gorgeous fresco painted ceiling, long floor to ceiling drapery and a giant white headboard. It was gorgeous. The bathroom is well appointed with a rain shower and robes. Breakfast was amazing with tons of fruit, fresh bakery items, dozens of cheese choices, bacon, sausage, potatoes (delicious) and scrambled eggs. My husband said the eggs were the creamiest he's every had (outstanding)! At breakfast, the general manager walks around to greet all of his guests. He is lovely and makes sure that you have what you need and gets to know each and every one of his guests. He gives great tips on navigating Florence. The concierge was also great and helped us make dinner reservations! On our last evening, there was a note on our bed with fresh baked biscotti for our travels home. This hotels really understands the customer journey. From start to finish, this hotel was FLAWLESS.

Perfect hotel for any travel needs!
After reading many reviews for my upcoming stay in Florence, I finally decided on this hotel and got a great rate on expedia. I am so glad I did. After a very busy week traveling on business, I concluded my business travel with 2 days in Florence for a work meeting. My only requirement was that the hotel was in close proximity to my meeting site and ideally, a gym (hard to find) but this hotel was close to everything, street markets, amazing food, shops, the Duomo, and presented itself in the form of an inconspicuous hidden gem that blends right in with the restaurants and boutiques that neighbor the hotel. INSIDE however, is like an amazing relaxing oasis. I was greeted at the door, before I even walked in and immediately treated like a VIP; they were waiting for me. The entire lobby area smelled like lavender and relaxing aromas, there was music playing, gorgeous Christmas decorations, nutella croissants and water presented beautifully for guests and smiling/engaging faces everywhere I looked. My room was huge, extremely clean, and smelled even better than the lobby. The bathroom was also unusually large with robes, fluffy slippers, a heated floor, and a large tub with great features. This wasn't even the best part. The best part was the free access to a FULL SERVICE gym next door with all the bells and whistles as well as the spa a floor down. Overall, I was blown away. Do yourself a favor and book this hotel without hesitation.

no Attempt to contact us saying ‘fully booked’!
When we arrived to check in bang on 3pm, the reception person verified our booking by showing our name on their reservation sheet for the day. She then proceeded to tell us that we’d be staying at another hotel as they were fully booked. At this point I said quite firmly that clearly our booking was one of those, that we had specifically booked the hotel because of the gym - which my husband was planning to use immediately- as I was about to take a very important work call within the next hour, which I very much needed to be in the privacy of our room for. I’d already been shown their whole reservation sheet for the night and it was clear that most of their booking for the day had yet to turn up ( unsurprisingly as it had only just turned 3, but they had clealy marked off the bookings who had arrived). I don’t know if the fact that we had a good price with a discount code had anything to do with it. I stood there repeatedly having to say that we needed to stay there and I really needed to get into the room for my call -we had booked and paid, had the booking confirmed and turned up on time. Most of it was met with an indifferent attitude, as though it didn’t really matter to them. After around half an hour of firmly sticking to our guns, they finally gave in and, funnily enough, put us in exactly the room we had booked. They did apologise, but didn’t offer anything to compensate for the trouble, though we were granted an extra 30 min in room at check out. Average hotel.

Wonderful hotel in the perfect location
I had a great stay here! The staff are very welcoming as soon as you walk in the door and will do everything they can to answer your questions. The room was small (like most rooms in Italy), but the bathroom was huge! It felt like the floor was heated in the bathroom as well though I didn't see a switch for that anywhere. The bed was very comfortable which is an absolute must after long days of exploring the city. The room came with access to the gym and spa facilities. Although I didn't use them during my stay (lots to do and see in Florence), the staff gave me a quick tour when I first arrived and they looked very nice. The staff is very willing to pre-book museum tickets for you, though I suggest you do that yourself before arriving in Florence because they are sold out quickly during the tourist season. The room includes a Handy mobile smartphone which you could use during your stay for Google Maps, internet, making free calls to select countries which is quite a cool feature I haven't seen elsewhere. A few things here could use improvement. They could expand the breakfast buffet and offer fresh-squeezed orange juice like my other hotels in Rome and Venice. The room has about 4 functioning plugs so if you have lots of things to charge it becomes a bit difficult. The WiFi connection definitely needs improvement. I got better Wifi elsewhere in the city. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends and would not hesitate to return again.
