Poorly Represented on Website
We went on a 50th anniversary vacation for my parents to PEI. I booked Holman Grand based on the name and photos on the website, which I thought depicted a very nice, well-appointed luxury hotel. It was not. A bare lobby and rooms that were cheaply and minimally furnished, except for a nice tub, which we used; no rugs. Bare floor. The television was awful and not capable of streaming so we were left to watch the guide at night. Valet took 15 minutes to get car. A/C had a minimal coolness setting so we were not cool at night. Great area, lots of restaurants and shops around. If you’re not worried about a hotel room and want to be in the middle of a great town, it’s fine.

Comfortable + Excellent Location
Excellent location within walking distance of shopping and dining. Rooms are quiet and comfortable with good quality beds/sheets. Staff is professional and friendly. Traveling with small dog and it worked out really well.

The hotel is great - staff are awesome, location was fantastic and just a block or two from Victoria Row which had restaurants and live music, as well as an easy walk down to the water. Only downside was the hotel is showing it's age. They appear to be updating some rooms, though, so it may be on the upswing in that area.

6/10 Good

I would say it is a very comvinient location. But a very old hotel , not worth the money over all . Service is really bad too . First day when we check in the gentleman working there with a very energy- saving low tone voice makes us feel we are not welcomed at all. No one will have you with your luggage at all . Second day , the AC got something wrong , not working well , the only solution is to send us a fan , they not even bother to come and check for us . They provide some discount in the end but again ruined our trip Second night

Overall nice, clean property with courteous staff! Not a fan of the unlockable bathroom door with the frosted 'privacy' film that has gaps that you can see through if you're staying with as a family. Street Parking is workable especially if you're driving around the island during the day as Charlottetown bylaw seems to ticket between 8am-4pm.

For the price, im not sure it was worth it. Parking is terrible. No way to drop luggage off, you have to carry everything from a long distance and make several trips back to the car. Very small rooms. When I entered I could not figure out why the bathroom lights didnt work, phones dont work in the room so i had to go down to the desk to find out that you have to put your room key into a slot by the door so all your lights will work. Never seen anything like that before, it would have been nice to have instructions by the door or given to us when we checked in.

Great, responsive staff. After 3 nights they seemed to really know us at the front desk. Neighbourhood is nice with Victoria row a block over and plenty of other dining options close by.

not so "grand" hotel
This is a 3 star hotel charging 5 star prices. Hallway decor is dismal. Tired looking carpet in a dated color. Dustbunnies in the carpet right outside our room. Room decor is shabby. You would be better off in a Hampton Inn. Room size was medium. Bed was so-so. AC did not work well for us making sleep a challenge 2 nights in a row. There are small tubes of shampoo and body wash. Not very eco friendly. There is a heated pool and hot tub in the basement. That is a plus. But the basement gym was depressing and lame - 2 old looking treadmills, an elliptical and 6 dumbbells - a pair of 20's, 30's and 40's. The location is the only advantage of this place - smack in the heart of Charlottetown. There is an attached indoor mall if you like shopping. I was very disappointed in my stay. Dont be fooled by the pics and the name Grand in front of Holman. There is nothing "grand" about this hotel. At $100 less per night, I might have been less disappointed.
