Lovely B&B close to the water. Good sized room and bathroom with shower. Delicious full breakfast. Very friendly hosts, Paul and Lee, who gave advice on where to eat within walking distance and where to visit in the area. They intend to update the property, but we found it to be very satisfactory as it is. Plenty of street parking.

We really loved our stay at Bowes Incline. It sets a very high standard in all areas from staff friendliness, to the quality of finish in the rooms, their cleanliness and the quality of their food. We only wish that all of our stays were this good!
The great experience started with the young lady on reception who was really friendly and helpful, and who doesn't love that liltting Geordie accent!
The rooms have been well designed and simply styled with neutral colours.

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Gateshead
Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly time to visit Gateshead is during January, February, and December, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For those looking to make the most of their trip, staying for at least 2 to 3 days allows ample time to discover the area's key landmarks, cultural sites, and historical attractions. Visitors can enjoy a range of experiences, including exploring the vibrant riverfront, indulging in affordable dining options, and discovering the local shopping scene. This makes a trip to Gateshead not only romantic but also great value for money, appealing to families and those seeking LGBTQ-friendly options alike.
Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals to Gateshead, visit the Deals or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted rates on accommodation as your travel date approaches. Consider enabling email alerts or push notifications from Hotels.com to stay informed about flash sales and special promotions, which could lead to reasonable prices for your stay. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, so you're more likely to see the best options. This way, you can secure a budget-friendly getaway without missing out on potential savings.
Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate depending on aspects such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates may help you save on your stay in a Gateshead hotel. For those in search of something distinctive, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and can sometimes offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is higher or lower than the average. If the price is on the higher end, we’ll suggest more affordable dates, increasing the likelihood that you could secure a better deal.
Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre usually tend to be pricier, but thanks to Gateshead's superb public transport connections, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that is still well linked. For those eager to explore alternative, less populated neighbourhoods or even some lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
