Learn more about Mariposa
Gold Rush history lives on in this small mountain town where antique shops and wine tasting rooms line streets that John C. Frémont once walked. The Mariposa County's Old Stone Jail stands as testament to frontier justice, while museums chronicle the town's mining heyday. Serving as the gateway to Yosemite National Park, visitors can marvel at Half Dome's grandeur and chase thundering waterfalls just a short drive away. For adventure closer to town, Yosemite Ziplines offers treetop thrills, while the Merced River provides cooling respite on hot summer days. Browse Windows on the World Books and Art before heading to Lake McClure Bagby Recreation Area, where butterflies—the town's Spanish namesake—sometimes flutter past boats on the sparkling water.

5th Street Inn
"The Inn is old, maybe historic, therefore our room reflected the age. It was a huge clean room, high ceilings, bright big window Offered refrigerator & microwave I took a shower, I used the non-slip mat but the tub was slippery. There were no handrails for my safety. Shower soap, shampoo & conditioner were provided. Parking was a bit tricky due to the slant of the driveway"
Best Western Plus Yosemite Way Station Motel
"This place was great! Staff was helpful, room was comfy, views were gorgeous, breakfast was pretty standard continental hotel breakfast. If we go back to visit Yosemite, we're definitely staying here again."
The Yosemite Inn
"Hôtel vieillot relativement propre. Fait la job pour une nuit"
River Rock Inn
"Lovely location near Yosemite - convenient parking to rooms. Had a little trouble finding our room as it was on the backside of the building. Cafe with breakfast offerings was not open as scheduled so that was a bit of a bummer. Room was large and had great coffee maker in room - bathroom had good water pressure in the shower. Beds were comfortable and rooms were quiet and offered a good night's sleep."

Visitors can enjoy museums, charming cafes, art galleries, and shopping opportunities, all while taking in the stunning scenery of nearby natural parks. This makes for a great value for money trip, particularly for those on a budget looking to delve into the rich history and culture of this small town.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To uncover last-minute deals to Mariposa, start by exploring the Deals or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may discover discounted hotel rates as your travel date approaches. Consider enabling email alerts or push notifications to stay informed about flash sales and special promotions, ensuring you could find great savings. Additionally, the Smart Shopping feature within the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, helping you make informed decisions. This way, if rooms become available or prices drop, you'll be among the first to seize those opportunities for a spontaneous getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates could help you find a more economical option for your stay in a Mariposa hotel. For those in search of distinctive accommodations, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and may offer better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we'll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the cost appears to be on the higher side, we’ll recommend alternative dates that could be more affordable, enhancing the likelihood of finding a good deal.
- Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive; however, thanks to Mariposa's excellent public transport connections, you may discover more affordable independent hotels located a bit further out that remain well-connected. For those wishing to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often great value to be found.
