Would stay here again!
We visited Yosemite National Park and enjoyed staying at Yosemite Southgate. The breakfast was ok, but the coffee was terrible! Other than that it was a great little town with several restaurants in walking distance to the hotel.

Little gem only an hours drive from Yosemite
Fantastic hotel in a great location. The room was huge and in great condition. Free breakfast was unexpected and very tasty. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for somewhere close to Yosemite

Awful service
Turned up to check in, was advised they tried to take payment, couldn't and so cancelled the reservation. No attempts were taken to take the money and in any event, it was pay at hotel so i'm not sure why the attempt was made. Apparently contact was attempted but no missed calls, no voicemail and no emails. We only turned up at 7.30pm so it wasn't late. When questionned about the reservation and why it was cancelled, the man on the front desk got weirdly aggressive within the first 20 seconds and shouted in our faces that there was no room and to leave. Our only option was to take it up with the manager the next day! I have since sent a message and have received no response. I can't begin to describe the attitude and aggression of this man. There was absolutely no need for the shouting or tone used and i have never been spoken to in such a way. There was no apology and no service whatsoever. Luckily, there were rooms next door at the Best Western. By complete contrast, the check in there was fantastic, as was the room. The neutral ratings for the property are simply due to having not stayed there. I will say that we attempted to resolve this with hotels.com and were told there was nothing they could do and to speak to the hotel directly. So, essentially we had to pay extra for a different hotel, were screamed at by the front desk staff member and have received no response thereafter. Great service...
