A really wonderful hotel for a peaceful and relaxing break.
Near to Torquay and nearby villages, but a charming and secret hideaway with great food and friendly and attentive staff.

Karen in reception greeted us when we arrived, very freindly, helpful, informative and showed us to our room. She also booked a taxi for us for the evening out. The room was lovely, clean tidy and beautiful view. We had breafast in the morning, lots of choice. We would love to return to this hotel in the future. Sue and Andrew

The room was beautiful, and the bed was really comfortable.
The food is beautiful…pre booking is essential, especially dinner as the restaurant is very popular.

Very positive stay
My wife and I had an excellent and comfortable stay! We were greeted at the door and taken care of as we were shown to our room. Upon arrival they gave us an upgrade to a sea view which was very kind!
Everything was brilliant, only slight issue was the lack of wifi & reception in our room (reception problem with the area, not the hotel itself). We didn’t end up trying any food though, but looked delicious.
Thank you Orestone for accommodating us!

Fabulous stay on stunning Devon coast
This is a lovely place! The terrace looks out over the sea and a beautiful garden. A 15 minutes (steep) walk takes you to the Maidencombe cove, an idyllic cove, which is wonderful for swimming. The kitchen is excellent and all meals were delicious. Our room was cosy and individual with a large balcony. This is a magical place and we loved staying here!

Coastal Path Walk
A beautiful manor house with friendly staff and great sea views. Although we were in the smallest room it was really lovely with all the amenities you need including a fridge with complimentary water. The only downside would be the size of the bath towels which could have been bigger and some fresh milk instead of the capsules.
Breakfast and dinner were absolutely fantastic with great service and attention to detail. Highly recommended if you are thinking of staying in the area.

Lovely older hotel in very attractive grounds. Could do with a little updating.
Our room overlooked a roof and kitchen vent so you may want to enquire about the outlook!

Out of the way ( in a good way)
This place may be under rated . The setting is lovely and the manor is very well maintained but the real reason to go is the food quality.it was some of the best food we had on our entire trip and they don’t promote it. I think many returning guests come for the cuisine. And make sure you go down to the Costal Pathway for a hike . You really get a feel of costal Devon . Highly recommended!

Birthday break
The lady on reception was pleasant and friendly, she offered to upgrade us due to the hotel Being quiet for an extra £30 per night, we decided as it was my husband's birthday wto agree. We had a roof terrace with a wallpapered room, the original room had only a window and painted walls. The room was clean and nicely decorated with a comfy bed.
It stipulated that if we required a meal we would have to request this before 6.30 pm the day before. As we had been out on the Saturday walking most of the day enjoying the beautiful surroundings we arrived back at the hotel at 8.30 . We decided to have at the bar around 8.30, i explained that although we where late asking would it be possible for Sunday lunch in the 4 star Hotel the following day as it was my husband's birthday. I understood i was late asking. The guy said that they had lots of bookings and that as we had not asked 2 hours previously it may not be possible. We said we would wait on the terrace for him to check. We left after an hour to go to bed without his return.
I feel that it would have been polite to follow up our request.
We stayed for 5 nights and upgraded but then decided not to eat there as we felt the service could have been slightly more attentive.
All in all a wonderful holiday and a lovely environment.
