Beautiful, and as lovely as the reviews that led us to stopover in this gorgeous place on our way to the Cornish coast. Beautifully appointed room, amazing hospitality and friendliness and we only wished we had had more time to enjoy. Breakfast was also so lovely and we could want for nothing more on our first ever English B&B stay. Thank you Liongate House.

This is a quaint property with everything you expect from a place built in the 1400s. The restaurant and bar area has many of the features of an old property such as beams, low ceilings and slab floors.
The room we had was a large one in a converted older out building at the front of the property. It had its own outdoor sitting area and easy access to the adjacent carpark.
Sam and his team were awesome and great conversation.

Absolutely beautiful room with view. Everything was lovely at the hotel only issue being coffee machine downstairs was broken and not working properly each day. A small Nespresso would have worked better in the meantime.

This hotel was highly rated as the best in UK… unfortunately it did not live up to this expectation.
The facilities are run down; it has a nice pool that was probably amazing in its day. The breakfast was good; better than the Michelin star dinner!
Our experience may have been tainted because we had just stayed at Heckfield place which was so much better!
The grounds and the main house is quite beautiful. We would have loved to do some horse riding but the weather wasn’t permitting.

The first sight is exactly as the photo of the Inn, and we walked in to a happy and friendly pub, not rowdy, and collected our keys to our room which was as shown in the website. Generous with tea, coffee and milk, plus a pair of binoculours to look out onto the hill behind.
We quickly returned to the bar, with it's original beams and polished copper benches for a drink then a meal. Good value prices, choices and the meals were delicious and huge. I could not finish my meal. The cooked...

Lot of history with the building. it is a working farm. While not modern rooms they retain the character of the building and have everything you need. Ensuites are modern and fully renovated. Bed extremely comfortable. Owner very friendly and helpful. Lovely little village with a lovely pub within walking distance that had great meals. The place really grows on you and you get some understanding of the history of the place. Highly recommend!

Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, so you're more likely to see the best options. This way, you'll be among the first to know if prices drop or rooms become available for a spontaneous getaway.
Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate due to factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so having some flexibility with your travel dates could help you save on your stay at a hotel in Frome. For those seeking something a bit different, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and may offer better value. When you make a booking through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher end, we’ll suggest alternative dates that could be more affordable, increasing the chances of securing a better deal.
Consider your location: Staying nearer to key attractions or city centres can provide convenience, but it often comes with a higher price tag. For more affordable options, you might consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between cost and accessibility to the sites you intend to visit. You may find that independent hotels situated further out usually tend to be more affordable, offering a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
