Clean property - disappointing experience
We have two young kids (7 and 10) and stayed here for three nights. Pros: Property is nice and clean. We booked a 1 bdrm suite -- it was great. Small couch converts into 2nd bed (you'll need to ask for a roll-away bed because the couch isn't big enough for 2). Includes full kitchen with a washer & dryer (they provide laundry detergent)! We ate at Basilica (Italian restaurant) for dinner and it was fantastic - highly recommend. (Tip: There is a beautiful large wooden dining table outside the restaurant in a side garden with twinkle lights that we got for all of our dinners. You need to specifically request it. Good luck!). Hotel Cons: Service. So disappointing. We felt like a number. We came from a similarly-sized hotel on another part of the island and they made you feel like you were part of their Fijian family. Not here. Also, service takes forever. Not sure if they're understaffed, but every food/drink order was a painful waiting experience (one day lunch took nearly an hour to get food). Fiji time is a real thing at this hotel. Also, no beach - hotel is on a rock jetty. But evening sunset views are amazing. The pool is nice (one kids pool and a separate adult one). Had sloped beach-style access. Small waterslide was a winner too. But overall, the entire pool felt a bit like a big drinking party. Loud music. Happy hour bell ringing. At the end of the day, you could put this hotel anywhere. Didn't feel the Fiji culture like the 3 other hotels we've stayed at.
