Hotel itself could do with some redecoration but it is a lovely old building full of character and it was very cosy with open fires and big comfy sofas to relax in. Food was locally sourced and well cooked and presented.

Gorgeous hotel in the centre of Ballater. Only 9 miles from Balmoral Castle, Crathie Kirk and various walks. Staff are so welcoming and accomodating. Tasteful Scottish decor with a modern twist. Beautifully decorated rooms, quiet location ensures peaceful sleep. Delicious, quality meals and breakfast. Atmospheric "Ghillies" bar, live fiddle music. We will definitely be back.
