Great location - but needs refreshing
The hotel is in a great location but could do with some renovations and refreshing. I called the operator several times and got no answer. Also my wife noticed a smell and what appeared to be smoke in the passageway - She reported it to the front desk - still not sure what the problem was. However the room was clean and tidy and breakfast good.

Stunning decor and exemplary service.
Truly a five star hotel. Deserves each and every star. The hotel is opulent. The service is exemplary, and the location is central (both main attractions and shops at your doorstep). What makes this Hotel extra special is the General Manager's leadership. He is approachable, attentive and puts hotel guests first. He went out of his way to make our stay extra special. Thank you We will definitely return to this Hotel the next time we visit. Booking here is a no regrets decision. To all the staff at the hotel thank you for a wonderful experience.

Highly Recommended. Heritage glamour !
Terrific hotel in the perfect location. Staff are fabulous. Booking their Executive Floor package is the best ever. The hotel exceeded our expectations right from booking our car requirements, providing advice on places to visit, lovely meals, spacious hotel room. Our trip and the hotel was nothing short of perfect.

changing rooms need updating
The negatives on my review are solely based on the pool facilities. I booked here as the last keg of our trip before flying home. Room and hotel lovely and clean, staff polite, we were the only ones for dinner in the restaurant but they served us fantastically and food was great. Going to the pool was weird though. There was an unmanned desk outside the pool so I collected a towel and went through. The locker room is absolutely filthy with very basic facilities and it smells. Think council facilities from the 1980s. I never saw so much dirt balanced on a doorway before. When I went into the pool there was a man sitting playing on his phone on one of the loungers (its a habit in China which is really annoying- you have to hear what’s on their phone as they don’t seem to wear earphones or consider others by turning the volume down) when another man arrived half hour later I realised (by the matching scruffy outfits that they were the pool attendants) It was rather bizarre and not in keeping with the experience I had from other areas of the hotel

Great hotel, customer service and location
Great hotel, great customer service and great location My only issue was that the room was like a sauna and the air con would not produce cold air, apparently because it was autumn but I dont understand that, it should either work or not
