Hotel not open and is a building site
I turned up and the hotel was an active building site and closed.
The builders were really helpful, great people rang the owner defended my case checked and confirmed I had a booking.
The owner 'not my problem, he needs to contact the booking agent'
Hotels.com 'virtual advisor' was about as much use as a chocolate teapot. Couldn't find anywhere to stay, drove home

Disappointing
This hotel is listed as an aparthotel so realised facilities would be limited. Visit started badly as the hotel is on the A52 between Nottingham and Grantham and on the night of our visit the A52 was closed for repairs outside Nottingham so had to go on a 12 mile detour in foggy conditions, then struggled to find the hotel as using the hotel postcode in my SatNav doesn't get you there and as there is no road lighting nearby it is very difficult to see the hotel in the dark! Using directions from the hotel receptionist we finally made it - just in time, as reception closes at 10pm and if you arrive after this you can't check in till the following day - this needs to be made much clearer on the Hotels.com website which is confusing as it says "24 hour front desk" under "Main Amenities". There is a telephone number provided for out of hours support but no telephone is provided and there was no signal for my mobile phone network, so could not access out of hours support, which I needed as the receptionist did not provide the password to access the wifi and the only information provided in the room is an A4 sheet about the history of the local area. I considered pulling the wifi repeater off the wall in the corridor outside our room to find the code but it was just a bit too high up for me to do this. So what was left of the evening was spent with no means of outside communication whatsoever. Fortunately the TV worked fine. Apologies for this ramble needed to get this off my chest

Great place
Excellent stay. Very friendly, helpful staff. Clean and comfortable, great location. No restaurant on site at the moment, but we knew this so went prepared and lots of places nearby to eat. Some nice country pubs nearby, Redmile just a few.miles up the road with nice country pubs, or Bingham has every kind of eatery you could need. Lovely and quiet. Very good shower. It was perfect for us visiting parents.

The property we stayed has been refurbished to a good standard. Tea and coffee available in the room.
Did not hear the road noise from A52.

Good value but remote!
Nice clean hotel and excellent value for money. Very remote and not within walking distance of anything really. Would have benefited from having the bar open.

Nice and quiet place to be but on the contrary, the place is still under refurbishment. Had a good time overall.

We have stayed here before and liked it very much, at the moment it is being fully refurbished so we didn't have the full facilities like breakfast or bar, but that was OK! The staff were friendly and very helpful, when the refurbishment is complete it will be an excellent amenity for the area!
