They gave us a very warm welcome and even though it was quite late, cooked us a good meal as soon as we arrived. The room and en-suite were very spacious and the bed comfortable. We really enjoyed the quietness there.

Moorings Hotel visit.
The stay overall was very good, the hotel and room were clean and the bonus of having the Italian bistro next door was brilliant.( good food and caring chef ) In respect of the team on duty, everyone was very friendly and attentive making the stay very enjoyable and would have no hesitation staying next time i am up in the north, a big thanks to everyone.

One night of comfort
An overnight stop following a long day at Beamish Museum. The Moorings provided all that we needed close by before a long journey home next day. The restaurant staff were excellent, recommending excellent food that was good value for money.

A good location for celebrations and weekends.
The Moorings changed hands six months before our visit. Interestingly it is now more of an Italian Restaurant with an accomodation block. The staff are friendly and helpful. The only down point is breakfast is basic and isn't served until 9.00am.

Lovely hotel, ideally situated for various places! Staff really pleasant, friendly & helpful! Food brilliant,we ate in the restaurant at night and the breakfast superb! Very well priced accomodation, Our only criticism,no details in the guest book re fire exits etc, or info for local facilities, oh n please pop :hot water' warning stickers on your sinks & showers! The water is extremely hot,

Great hotel for Beamish Musuem
Visiting Beamish Musuem this hotel is in a perfect location and only a 10min drive away. The hotel itself is clean, and well run by a friendly efficient staff. The room we had was a fine size and the shower was great. We ate at the hotel and I can only say we weren't disappointed. There is some traffic noise being next to a road but through the night it isnt so noticeable. Perfect hotel and for what we paid £112 for two nights with a full breakfast if needed included it is highly recommended.

GNR stay over
Arrived early and room was already available, staff were really helpful offering to help with bags etc. restaurant food was really good, and staff very friendly. I called in the week asking if I could get an early breakfast as I was running GNR , they couldn’t open early but went out and bought me the breakfast items I’d mentioned specially. Needs a little updating but everything was clean tidy and professional and very friendly.

Would come back
2 night stay in accessible room. Plenty of space, room clean, bed comfortable with nice white linen and heavy white towels. Complementary tea & coffee, and small shower gel etc. Staff lovely and friendly throughout stay. Made sure we could eat breakfast in the downstairs part of the restaurant as the upstairs not wheelchair accessible. Breakfast lovely both days, freshly cooked to order. Really enjoyed what we had from the Arianos restaurant too. If you are after modern, up to date decor this is not the place for you. However if you are after clean, comfy and warm with great food and lovely staff then it represents good value for money. Thanks for a nice stay

Excellent
Excellent, only negative comment is that the included continental breakfast was just a bowl of cereal. Cooked breakfast was available at £8 extra but this was not served until 9.30am. We were quite happy with the cereal, but others may not be. The bistro restaurant is excellent and good value for money

Warm welcome and friendly staff. Only recently changed hands so some teething problems. Single beds could do with topper or new mattresses. Will use again

Appalling
We would like a full refund for our booking at this venue. When we arrived the onsite restaurant was closed down and the best the hotel could offer us was a bed but no food. We consequently had to book at a hotel down the road. We are very disappointed that there seemed to ha e been no way that The Moorings could have advised us of their difficulties. Unless we get a positive reponse to this we will never again be using Hotels.com.
