10/10 Exceptional

Three nights at the Bethel, excellent desk staff. she was pleasant and affable even with my late arrival. An older hotel with renovations to the rooms that meant a peaceful sleep in a comfy bed with fresh white linens. A small kitchenette was enough to have breakfast and coffee in room ... with lots of parking out front and an easy walk to a grocery store and restaurants. This is a place I will visit again!!

2/10 Poor

This was the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in. The building is in complete disrepair and should be torn down. The bathroom was horrible. I’m definitely never staying here. There was a note taped to the wall asking for us to return the key to the office before leaving. I tried to drop the key off at 8am, but no one was around and the office was locked, so I left it in the room.

A total lie. No free wifi, ordered a room with two queen beds , got a room with one queen and a hide a bed. Went to office to inquire, was told the hide a bed is considered a queen bed. No bedding for hide a bed , when asked for bedding was supplied a thin blanket with burn holes in it and the fitted sheet was already on the mattress. I slept in my sleeping bag. I’d submit pictures but I it won’t let me . I would avoid, in my opinion.

Stained pillows, flys in the room, dingy, mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable, a cop told me to lock my car and suggested another hotel, but this one was already paid for. I will avoid staying in Fort Macleod all together in the future, Lethbridge is close and has much better alternatives.

6/10 Good

There seem to be plenty of hotels in this area of Fort MacLeod and all seem to be of 1950s vintage. Maintenance is lacking, likely because occupancy is not great given the number of competitors. The bathroom door didn't close, the front door has no inside pull (just the deadbolt), an electrical plug for the air conditioner is hanging loose, the temperature control knob on the AC unit just spins around, etc.) Staff are friendly and the unit is relatively clean. However, as the "premium" unit, it is not worth the extra price. We have found better value at a similar vintage motel in Pincher Creek.

While the room had significant renovations (floors/walls), it was rather cramped with the TV located in a spot that was difficult to watch and no one on duty in the office during check in/check out times - service requires 'buzzing' the office.

It was very cutesy and homey but there was some minor staining and cigarette burns on the comforter. Served it's purpose though and was cozy.

Modernized with new beds and bedding but other wise an old motel lacking much.- dirty vents in furnace and air conditioner, no coffee, no bath mat, just a few odd dishes, etc.

We arrived at 330 for the room . Office was locked and had to buzz to get in . Took the lady sometime to come answer the door . She finally finds our info for checking in. Then we are about to pay credit or debit won’t work . She insist on cash or an e-transfer. Then tells us oh by the way the lights don’t work in your room. You can use the tv for the light . We ask there isn’t another room or something you can do . I want a light in our room . I am paying for a service I expect to get full service. She then says a technician is coming soon then says oh it’s the breaker . She keeps switching her story as to what it wrong . I ask for another room . Nope can’t do that . Then I say I am going to lose where and ask her to destroy my info and want insurance that my card won’t be charged. The lady wasn’t friendly was mad that I did t wanna stay in a room with no working lights . I like to read and the light from the tv isn’t enough . I would not ever recommend this place to anyone!

To be be honest, we were speechless, the property is beyond acceptable. If we wouldn’t have arrived in the dark, with no other immediate option we would not have stayed. The front step was a delapated worn out wood platform which was difficult to step onto. On arrival there was something scurrying about and I guarantee you it was not domestic! On a positive note the bed was clean, no bugs! This property should not be promoted by Expedia
