When shopping in Cambodia, you'll find fine silks, textiles, statues and carvings, along with silverwork and art. Cambodia is a treasure trove for exotic items, especially for Buddhism-themed ornaments. They are sold in boutiques, on the street and in large markets, both in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. You can also stumble upon interesting items in smaller towns across Cambodia.
In some markets though, without a basic foundation in the Khmer language, you'll find it tricky to bargain prices down to your desired mark. It's a good idea to take a Khmer-speaking friend along or stick to the big markets with their mostly tagged items and fixed prices.
