Bougie hotel with comfy bed and great location
Beautiful hotel. Great location and comfortable room and bed. Lobby had nice seating area to enjoy a coffee or cocktail. Staff was helpful and shared easy directions to walk around town. The parking was convenient and free and it was especially nice that they held luggage after checking out so we could explore more around beautiful Reykjavik. We would love to come back to Iceland again to see more of its beauty and this hotel will be perfect to stay at. It was a pleasant surprise.

Would 100% stay again
Everything about the hotel is amazing, the location is easy and convenient to get to everywhere, especially bus stop 12 which seems to be used by most excursion services. The room was always warm and clean, the staff in the hotel were extremely helpful, I had forgotten an adapter for my chargers and the staff provided me with one free of charge. The food in the hotel is also very nice, especially the breakfast which is 100% worth it.

Exceptional Experience. Warm, Clean, Friendly.
The entire experience at Eyja Guldsmeden Hotel was exceptional. ALL of the staff was friendly and smiling. They were attentive to our needs, went out of their way to provide excellent recommendations, show us maps, discuss local tips and even follow up with us at later times (without solicitation) about questions we'd asked that they didn't know the answer to. When I casually mentioned one morning to a team member at the front desk that we'd been out late celebrating my partner's birthday, we arrived to our room that evening to find a chilled bottle of champagne and a had written birthday card form the team. The was the epitome of a 5 Star stay and we will absolutely return to stay with Eyja again.

Perfect last night in Reykjavik
It was our last night in Reykjavik after travelling the south coast for the last week. We stayed in room 407 which was beautifully designed with a four poster bed. There was complimentary tea & coffee near the bar area, which you helped yourself to. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from sea.

Don't hesitate, book it!
I feel like this place is a hidden gem. It is the cutest place, cozy atmosphere, fantastic rooms with all the expected amenities. We stayed here for a couple nights at the end of a long trip and it was welcoming and relaxing. Would absolutely stay here again.

I really liked this hotel, starting with my arrival – 2.5 hours before check-in – when I found that my room was already available and I had been upgraded from a single room to a double.The location was easy to reach by car and parking was problem-free. Once I arrived, I did not use the car because the hotel was close enough by foot to many sights (e.g., 15 min. to Hallgrímskirkja, 20 min. to Lækjartorg in the heart of the business district). The room was tastefully furnished and very clean and quiet, despite being close to the elevator and facing the street. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. I also appreciated the in-room safe, a wardrobe with ample storage, the many electrical outlets and good lighting (except for the area near the desk, where the task lighting could be improved). There were blackout drapes on the windows which would be essential during the middle of the summer. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast buffet (3590 ISK) was outstanding with organic eggs, local bacon and sausages, several excellent cheeses, great pastries and several Icelandic specialties such as rúgbrauð (rye bread), herring, skyr, etc., as well as standard items such as cereals, fruits, etc.

The rooms are really cozy and have such a unique atmosphere for a hotel. The breakfast isn't included but it's definitely worth paying for. I especially liked the "I love eco essentials" brand of shampoo/conditioner/etc. the lotion smelled so good and I liked it better than the one i brought with me. The staff were friendly and helpful. I had no idea how to get back to the airport and they helped me figure it out. I would definitely stay here again!

I loved this hotel for its ambience, staff & food! Unique sustainable eco-friendly hotel with a cozy area for coffee/tea and a book. Incredible breakfast before your day’s adventure in Reykjavik. Only downside is it’s really not walking distance to the downtown area. We had rented a car so it was fine for us. The weather is so unpredictable that a long walk may not be the best option. Other than that I would absolutely stay here again.
