Dirty place with no customer service
Other than being located in the city center this place has nothing going on. The place is dirty. Floors did not seem like they had seen any sweeping lately, cover of the extra pillow in the cabinet was not changed from the previous party (I know bc it was full of hair), the stair carpets seemed to have been last washed before W2. Window blinds just enough to cover half of the willow let so much light at night and, of course in the morning. Checking in was a nightmare. First they did not respond to my inquiry via hotels.com, then I call their phone number listed in hotels.com only to be told it is the wrong number, then I get there at around 17.00 and find no one at the front desk. No AC. I would not go back!

The reception is not attended. Haven't met anyone exxept the cleaning lady which could not help much... Steep stairs and 3-4 floors. Difficult access with large suitcase.

Average hotel
Room was clean and bed comfortable. Good location in old town but very basic hotel. No elevators and hallways were pretty dirty, doors in my room opened to a fire escape which weren't very secure.

No one home . . .
The room standard was particularly good. The room was big enough and the bathroom facilities were of a very good standard. We were on the first floor for guests - 38 steps! gaining entry: you must find the single door entry, number 35, with a sign to the right. We were a planned late arrival, about 23.15 actual. We could not gain entry. I then phoned the number I had and we set to on gaining entry under remote control. "Do you see the black box up high on the right?' YES. "Use this number to open **** and you will find a key"' OK " Open the door, them put the key back in the box and close it"' "Go upstairs to the check in desk, where you will find a box containing an envelope with your name on it". "This contains a door and room key". That was check in completed . . .

Simple convenience
Our fault was that we didn't read the message that the hotel sent. We also left home late so by the time we got there, the reception desk was closed. Parking was in a tiered garage and was about a 6-minute walk from the hotel. The hotel itself was hard to find. It's easy to miss because the entrance looks like a common doorway for apartment buildings. We got instructions from the hotelier by phone on how to get our key from a coded keybox. But opening the door was tough. The tumblers were not lining up. It's like lockpicking a master lock in Skyrim and you've only gotten the skill to 20. Both the main door and our hotel door was like that. Without an elevator, getting up the narrow stairwell was a challenge especially while carrying a jogging stroller. The room itself was simple. As for the location, everything that people can typically enjoy for a weekend is within 6-7 minutes away.

Worth price
Not bad at all for the price. A little noisy due to the location but no other major issues.

clean but noisy!
This is a super little hotel in a very central spot. Clean and efficient. One big downside though: We were on the fourth floor with SINGLE GLAZED windows meaning Fri and Sat night party noise was too loud. Hotels are places to sleep, after all. Fix those windows and its great for a quick city trip.

Nice location close to public transport and shopping precints. Hotel is more like a dormetry with no reception and kitchen. No room service. No lifts to go up 4 levels. No light globes in entrance area of the room and did not get replaced even after informing a staff member. No system for left baggage for early checkout. leave baggage under the stairs on your own risk. Not

Great room and breakfast
If you get in late, there is no one on site to help you check in. You have to call the owner, who seemed irritated to be called that late at night. That said, the breakfast the next morning was really good with a lot of local options. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean. Great deal!

German 4th trip
Overall a good stay, didn’t like not being able to get in using a key, had to buzz an intercom to be allowed in, plus no lift so four flights of stairs to climb

Horrible provisions for access
It’s a small hotel and doesn’t have managed desk. Access to the hote requires pressing a buzzer, which connects to a remote manager who can let you in. Every time I had to enter, I had to wait 3-5 minutes as there would be no answer. They should get a RFID key fob and have it attached to room keys. Like every other modern location. It’s also noisy as hell and they should mention it that it’s not a place for good nights sleep. So only get this if you have no other place available. they do provide ear plugs .. lol

Adequate but basic Altstadt accommodation
I stayed one night in a double room (B section) and two nights the following week in a single (A section). The night the first week was very reasonably priced, which made one overlook some of the negatives of this hotel. The two nights of the second week, in a single room, cost me more than EUR 300 due to all hotels charging astronomical rates because of the largest trade fair of the year. This naturally made me more sensitive to the hotel offering - when there was no soap or shampoo in the room (basin or shower) I found this unacceptable. The little touch of a small bottle of water on arrival in the room that was provided the first week was missing during my expensive two night stay - I felt that the hotel could have made more effort (especially after what they were charging. Positives: In Altstadt - close to the bars and shops of this delightful area. Staff helpful when available. Close to tram station. Negatives: Basic rooms, lack of on site reception staff at night, pokey breakfast area with limited selection on offer (compared to other accommodation in the same street and price range)

Avoid this "hotel"
Have to cancel my booking! When came to check in, there was literary no one, entered confirmation num in the machine in order to get the room key but it didn't work. Call the number provided and lady said that they don't have my booking, saying that is expedia's fault not theirs, than asked for my credit card to confirm booking. With very bad understanding finally manage to accept the card and gave me the room key. When entered the room, bed sheet was used and dirty, toilet remain unclean. Called the lady again, she appologized saying that she s not on the site at the moment and don't know which room is clean?! 10min later she called again providing with another room key saying this time everything will be fine but also said that I won't get the breakfast tomorrow morning as I'm the only guest in the hotel that night and they didn't expected me!!! Ok I can leave with that...took the key webt to the room finally but the was a surprise....two dirty towels in the sink oneon the floor, only one little one for the hands clean. That was the end of my patience. Called her again and request immidiate cancelation as thia is really not acceptable. Avoid this doggy place, waisting of time!

Hotel was in perfect location. The room was very clean and spacious, but a lot of noise from the street during night (even with the good windows). We had no key to the front door and had to ring the doorbell in order to get in.

Hotel was in great location. Large room facing busy street, but everything was as I expected. Breakfast was satisfactory. Only difficulty was to get access on arrival using intercom on door - since hotel was unmanned at that time - and then to get the key using a PIN number. Overall satisfied with my stay

Smal nice Hotel
I only stayed in Abode Hotel for 3 nights. Good The location Activities around the hotel Plenty of bars Restaurants in every corner 2 minutes from the tram Bad The Bed was not great, but ok Breakfast was not great either There is not hotel reception And there is no lift, so if you stay on the top floor don’t have too much luggage All in all it’s a small and nice hotel which I will use again.

Modest and Uncomplicated
If you want a modest and uncomplicated place to stay in the heart of the city, this will do. Nightlife and interesting sites are right at your fingertips, and you are well-connected to other parts of town (incl airport and main station) by public transportation. It is a bit noisy, though, so bring/wear earplugs for sleeping.
