Ups and downs
Mattress on the firm side. Pillows were not great either. TV has english news channels. Drinking water is refilllable at lobby. Coffee is offered free flow at the lobby during breakfast hour. Great location.

Could have been good - but misses on the details
We were unfortunate enough to be on the train ( and Dom) side of the building. Even with the windows shut it was very noisy - we should have asked for a room change but didn't. Rooms dark - with stupid lighting - bed side light on one side of the bed, switch on one side of the bed. And with all the lights on it was dim. The bathroom was light being under flood lights. Duvet too small for the size of bed. Some of the staff were quite off hand - this may have been as we didn't fit the usual hip n groovy media type demographic - but we were still paying for the room. Location is a mixed bag - 400 m north by the Eigelstein Turm it is. lovely Bohemian area - but the hotel is definitely in the down at its heels nr a station area (my fault as I didn't double check). In the outside area there were a lot to street drinkers during the day. However it is very central and a walk to the Dom is about 10 minutes.

Perfect Cologne location
Great location next to train station! We were surprised how quiet the room was. We were able to check in early and everything was comfy and clean. We enjoyed the free coffee in the lobby.

Cool, calm and collected Cologne hotel
Second year running in this place and will book again. It's well-placed for everything but also clean, cool (temps are high in August) but is equally cool in its appearance. The room and lobby possess a very nice 'warehouse' chic and the basics, bed and shower, really couldn't be better. Staff are efficient and friendly too. My only bugbear: breakfast boxes (should you book them) are a little unimaginative and limited but it's a minor thing. And, of course, you don't have to have them!

Relaxed and comfortable stay
