Lovely spa hotel— don’t miss the desserts!
Gorgeous spa hotel that included a soaking tub in the room. The restaurant was a bit lackluster, with the exception of the desserts- which were truly incredible. The restaurant was apparently undergoing a management change when we were there, so it is understandable that the meal was a bit chaotic. Overall, a lovely hotel in a great location and we would definitely stay again.

One of my favorite homes away from home!
Pretty riverside views and a huge and fortifying breakfast are my favorite parts. I come to Iceland almost every year and it always includes a stay at Hotel Selfoss. And the water pressure is superb!

It was very fun to stay at the Hotel Selfoss with beautiful views of the river. Stay on floors 3 and 2 to ride up in the glass elevator with beautiful views of the river. Or walk up the stairs to your room also beautiful views of the area. Hotel service and amenities were great ! The breakfast had something for everyone and much better quality than the usual "breakfast included" offering

The hotel is mouldy and the staff not so friendly at the reception. You will get completely different treatment from when you stay in economy room vs one of the more expensive rooms. One of our friends decided to upgrade and got treated very diffefently after paying more.

We enjoyed our stay. Front desk and restaurant staff were friendly and accomodating. They let us check in early. The room was adequate and clean. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The fresh baked bread was so good! We also ate dinner there twice and were pleased with the choices and the food itself. It was a walkable area, close to shops and eateries and within driving distance to areas of interest. We would recommend Hotel Selfoss.

Wonderful stay!
Wonderful stay! We enjoyed the spa.So many dinner choices within walking distance. We went to the Old Dairy Food Hall across the street, Many choices there. Breakfast was the best here of our 9 day trip. So many choices on this buffet. We got a delux room with a river view. So spacious! Selfoss is in a very good location to see sites in Southern Iceland. Delightful town I’m glad we visited.

This is one of the larger hotels in the area. We were happy to get a room facing the river with a small balcony. The room was clean and thr hotel staff friendly. When we first arrived, GPS sent us to the back of the Hotel. A sign pointing towards the front desk would have been great! I highly recommend the breakfast buffet for the price. For dinner there is the Dairy Mall or several places in a small heading towards the pizza place, crispers or something. There is a grocery and pharmacy very close in walking distance and a car rental is also a 10 min walk. The public buses are frequent, mostly hourly, but one gap was 3 hrs to Reykjavik. Id stay here again and recommend it to others

Nice hotel
We had a quiet, comfortable room with a good view of the river. Construction had the main roads to the hotel closed. A construction worker told us the back roads to reach it. The front desk clerk could tell us how to get to a restaurant a half hour south. Breakfast buffet was nice with a good selection.

Hotel Selfoss – A Luxurious Stay in Iceland During our second visit to Iceland, we stayed at Hotel Selfoss for the first time, and it exceeded our expectations. This hotel is much larger than others we’ve visited, offering a spacious and elegant environment. Our room was big and comfortable, featuring a cozy bed and a well-equipped bathroom. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the check-in process was quick and efficient. One feature we loved was their aurora watch list where you can leave your room number, and they’ll call you if the northern lights are visible, which adds an extra touch of convenience. The hotel has a large dining room where they serve an excellent breakfast buffet. We appreciated the wide range of options, and the staff worked quickly to refill items and clear tables, ensuring there was always space for guests. Selfoss town itself is beautiful and offers everything you need, from shops to scenic views, making it a perfect base for exploring the area. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely book here again if we return to Iceland. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and a touch of luxury.
