This was a nice, new and modern hotel. It was located withing walking distance of the main train station, the fairgrounds, a big shopping mall and lots of dining. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and clean. Bathroom amenities were good. The hotel caters mainly to business people rather than tourist. In most cases this hotel would have deserved at least a four star rating and possibly a 5, however, they had some definite issues with customer service. When we got to our room we found that the TV did not work. We called reception and they sent up a technician. He was unable to make it work and simply left. We had to go down to reception and see about changing rooms, but were told the hotel was full and they wouldn't be able to change us until the next day. To make a long story short, it turns out that the TV problem was hotel-wide. None of the TVs in the hotel were working and it was going to take them several days to fix it. All well and good, but the hotel staff - technicians and reception - seemed to be oblivious of the problem, or simply didn't want to have to deal with it. With a hotel-wide TV problem, reception should have been briefed on the problem and how to deal with it. Guests should have informed of the problem upon arrival instead of going to their rooms and then finding that the TV did not work, etc., etc. In other words, the customer service at the hotel was totally lacking. For a hotel of this category, things like that should not happen.
