We have been big fans of the Ibis chain and have always had good experiences. Until now. We had just a single night stopover in Nantes and selected this property because of its location near our route. Arrival, check-in, and service was great and to expected Ibis standards. The general cleanliness and comfort of the facility and room was also, and the highlight of the visit was the great breakfast.
The first problem we had was that there was an awful sewerage smell in the bathroom. If you know a bit about plumbing, there was no P-trap under the sink, so smells from the sewer system were naturally flowing back into the bathroom. A regular flow of water in the sink and the shower made it bearable, but this is a construction flaw--hopefully only with the room we were in, not the entire facility.
Then, the next morning there was no hot water. After showering with frigid water we packed up and went down to check out. We told the clerk there was no hot water. She just shrugged and said it was the problem of the day.
Our perfect run with Ibis is over, we'll think twice booking with them again.
