Not worth the price.
This was the first time staying at a Downtown Buffalo Hotel. The cost was higher than my normal Hotel Budget, but I thought it would be worth being closer to the Arena. The only good thing about this Hotel was the Staff. They were very nice. The rest was for the dogs. I had no idea the Hotel was located in a very depressed area. When I think "Downtown Hotel", I picture it located next to office buildings, restaurants, and convention centers, not the Slums. First impression of the room was drab. The color brown was everywhere. It was like every other cheap Hotel I've stayed at. Except this room was not cheap! The beds are the most important factor I look for in a Hotel. If I don't get a good night's sleep, I'm a bear the next day. These beds were the worst. As soon as you sit you immediately sank down. During the night I fell into a valley that I had to wake up and "crawl out of"! I was thankful we were only there for one night. Sadly, we will not be back.

Nice place, Parking thieves
The Hotel and staff were nice. The issue is the parking. There is a parking structure within easy walking distance and I chose to park there instead of paying for the valet. ($9/day v $20/day). I explicitly said this at check-in. I stayed for 3 nights and was charged for 2 days of valet for no reason. I do not support thievery and will not be going back to this hotel.

Felt like home away from home
I was staying because my father was in the hospital across the road. I shared with the staff that my father was dying and asked for early check-in because I just flew in from Florida and didn’t have a place to go with my luggage. The front desk staff was wonderful and accommodating. I feel like they truly cared about me and my difficult situation. The bed was really comfortable, the pillows are the best! the shuttle service was so great. The drivers were great and made sure I was taken around safely. I felt like a made a new extended family.

Good location
Very friendly front desk employees. Room was comfortable and quiet. We did have one moment of concern- the front desk was unable to locate our valeted car keys. They called the valet who had been on duty the night before and it took a half hour to locate the keys! Problem solved but we did think we were going to have to file a missing car report! Otherwise, nice room, good breakfast, convenient location, nice staff.
