It was great to experience how the Buddhist live not withstanding it was a small insight. The history is steeped in the area and you can only imagine how the early settlers made their way. It was a great experience for us to reflect and take some time away.

A little difficult to find if you are walking, but the owner was lovely, and went out of his way to help me and my friend. The hotel itself was very comfortable, good wifi and a comfortable shared space.

A beautiful, traditional ryokan just a minute's walk from the station. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and efficient and greet you on your return with tea and sweets in your room. The surrounding area is beautiful, with the smell of trees and wood smoke. Amami is a bit of a hike from Osaka city but that just adds to the appeal. The onsen is very relaxing but some may be embarrassed bathing nude in front of others but if you can get over that then it is a fantastic experience. We had no...

Excellent Ryokan that has been well maintained and cared for given its long history.
The old facility is evident and yet despite that, provided a cosy stay.
The host was extremely warm and welcoming and showed the hospitality as one would expect from a traditional Ryokan passed down from decades old.
The kaiseki meal at additional cost were delicious and well worth it.
Frankly not much around the area and as the host put it best: come, relax and enjoy what the moment has to offer without the...
