We spent some time in Belleisle park. Beautiful park with a stunning conservatory. While we were there they had Ayr Opera Choir and some individual singers at the conservatory. Lovely afternoon and they were serving home baking and tea and coffee.

Ayr is somewhere we have passed by for years en-route to some other destination. But when you stop there, there are some really nice hidden gems, like the beach walk, the estuary, and small villages on the coastal route.

Loads of great wee pubs and restaurants. The Wotherspoons's West Kirk must be one of the cheapest pubs in Scotland.

Never been before, so we were amazed at the beautiful beach and dunes.. what a spot! But parking tricky, couldn't find a chipper without parking a mile away, when we could park outside, it was closed. But I'm sure we missed a lot only being there one

Needs a bit of TLC as it is looking a bit run down in places but still a good place to visit.
"A lovely and welcoming Guest House. A comfortable room with tea and coffee making facilities, and an excellent breakfast. No problems parking on the road outside the property. 2 minutes walk to the beach and 5 minutes walk into town "
"This was our first stay at the Abbotsford Hotel and we were not disappointed. Our room was clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly. We were at a function so we did not have dinner at the hotel but the breakfast was delicious. We’ll be back."
"Quiet BnB close to the city center and beach. Easily walked to restaurants, pubs, and shopping. Provided a parking pass for car in front of property, so did not need to drive in order to enjoy Ayr. Overall, a very good experience!"
"The Miller House Courtyard room was impeccable and comfortable. The hosts were kind, and the parking inside was easy. I really liked the town of Ayr and wish I could have stayed longer: the House is halfway between the charming town and the gorgeous beach - ie perfect location. "
