The staff at this hotel are lovely but the hotel itself is not nice. No air conditioner in the rooms. The area seems incredibly unsafe. Not much the hotel can do about that. The coffee shop adjacent to the hotel was lovely but trying to sit outside was hard as you are constantly harassed by addicts etc walking past.

Ideal Location
Quick checkin by friendly staff. Room was comfortably and clean. Hotel has good location to CBD, PikePlace neighbourhood and to the light Rail stations. However, Room does not have air conditioning nor electric jug for tea/coffee making facilities. The Hall ways need more lighting and overall improvement. On our stay, TV transmissions were down and no Tv entertainment at all.that day.

4 out 5, mainly for cleanliness and location.
A good location in the city, to get to see everything. Lacked tea/coffee and fridge facilities in the Room.

Unique but noisy
Fun hotel, kind of loud but very unique!

It is a cool historic building with historic charm. Still uses real keys, radiators for heating and has an elevator which fits about 4 people - just to help paint a picture. We especially loved the staff, the hotel dog, the coffee shop and how convenient the location is. We walked everywhere and loved it as our home base!

Nice
This is a quaint, historic hotel but know that it is just that; a historic hotel. it has small rooms, old doors with brass keys and tiny bathrooms. Also, there is no central hvac. That said - it is in a convenient location and has a lot of charm.

Loved!
A historic hotel in an excellent location and a terrific staff. I went with the larger room which was a good idea. A full length mirror in the room would be great. I’ll be back.

No Frills
The hotel and staff itself is very nice. The hotel is old and the rooms seem a little more like a boarding house room than a hotel room. The bed and pillow were comfortable and the bathroom clean. It was obvious though, that things were old and the room very sterile, no pictures hanging the wallpaper etc. A heating pipe ran from floor to ceiling right next to our bed. No bathroom vanity so it was really hard to get ready being unable to spread things out. The people at the front desk were awesome and the lobby is beautiful.

Desperately needs a renovation
The hotel needs to be renovated. It hasn't been touched in decades and the patchwork maintenance is obvious.
