"This hotel ruined what was supposed to be a special weekend getaway.
I live in London and had planned a short trip to Sicily with my girlfriend—the only weekend we both had free. I searched for hotels in Favignana on Expedia, but the platform redirected me to listings in Marsala without making that distinction clear. I mistakenly booked ProKite Alby Rondina, thinking it was in Favignana. Just a couple of days later, once I realized the mistake, I contacted Expedia and the property to request a cancellation. The trip was still over three months away, but the hotel refused any refund.
Even friends from Marsala visited the property in person to try and help resolve the issue, but the staff remained completely inflexible. With so much notice, they could have easily rebooked the room. Their lack of understanding and unwillingness to help left us frustrated and disappointed.
When we ended up staying, the experience was just as poor:
• Air conditioning barely worked, and there were no mosquito nets—an issue when you’re near the sea.
• The rooms are dated, the bathrooms are worn, and many face an industrial mechanic’s yard, not the sea.
• We requested an early breakfast so we could catch the ferry to Favignana. What we received was an afterthought: no bag, no spoon for the yoghurt—just a thrown-together excuse of a meal.
This place tries to market itself as a high-end spot, but the service and facilities are below basic. Definitely not worth the money or the stress. Avoid."

10/10 Excellent
"A lovely place to stay with amazing sunset’s & views. Would highly recommend for a short getaway & produced some amazing wine. If you’re looking for a quality stay with good food & wine it’s well worth the stay. Staff were very friendly & has an amazing pool area. While we were there in early July it was quite quiet & we were able to enjoy the pool with hardly anybody else there. Nice wine tasting as well!"
"The hotel only opened towards the end of last year after a complete restoration & looks amazing. Very simple minimalistic looking hotel rooms with amazing bathroom. Would highly recommend to anybody wanting a city break in Marsala & wanted to stay in a clean hotel. Have stayed in far too many worn out hotel rooms in the past & this was a very good find. If I had to be critical I would say that the swimming pool area only has 4 sunloungers so you can’t guarantee one but there is always the beach. The hotel organises free transfers to the beach & back with the beach clubs so not an issue. Amazing old building that has a beautiful courtyard for breakfast. The hotel does open the rooftop to the general public so worth noting if that is an issue for you. It wasn’t for us. All hotel staff were exceptionally friendly & helpful, couldn’t fault them! "
"I can generally be over critical at times but I found this little piece of tranquility. The staff were super friendly every single on of them. The food was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. What more could one ask if there is further work for me on the project I will definitely be staying here as it was more like a holiday than working away.
Although I wasn’t on a couples break I’d say this holiday is perfect if you are
Just a side not the olive oil and house wine are both lush my only mistake is I forgot to buy a bottle as I departed "
"We very much enjoyed this lovely boutique hotel. Located one street over from the main historical attractions, shopping and restaurants, it was very central and convenient. Our room was clean, spacious and well furnished, with all the necessary amenities. The decor was wonderfully bright and quirky with a unique and welcoming feel. Communication was excellent, from clear directions for free parking to suggestions for activities in the area. Breakfast was very good, with a wide range of options and first rate coffee. Overall, a great stay."
"Wonderful and great value stay in a lovely hotel superbly located in centre of Marsala. Room was quiet and delightful with a private and spacious balcony on the roof. Breakfast room is spacious and decorated with original works of art, and the breakfast itself generous. Staff exceptionally helpful and attentive. "
"The hotel room was quiet, standard size with pleasant decors and new furnitures. The room and bathroom are very clean. Shower has good hot water supply.
The receptionist had already gone home when I arrived there after 6pm.
However, I did receive detail
instructions & photos in the email how to open/close the front entrance gate, where to pick up the room key etc.
I had no problem of checking in to my room.
The breakfast food was fresh with good coffee and standard variety. Service was excellent.
Will definitely stay there next time.
