Our stay was pretty standard. The room was clean and comfortable. We chose Holiday Inn Express because it had complimentary breakfast and an indoor pool. Unfortunately the hot tub was out of service. The breakfast as very limiting for anyone looking to watch what they ate. There was no fruit at all, nor was there any yogurt. The "scrambled" eggs look like they had been whipped into sponges. My breakfast consisted of 2 boiled eggs and bacon. I was very disappointed. The staff commented that. Some times some items were very hard to get in. My thought is, there is a grocery store near by, it should be used in just such cases. Customers pay more to come to you expecting these amenities.
While checking in, I was asked for a separate credit card for "incidentals". I gave the second card and asked what would have happened if I didn't have one after driving 5 .5 hours. I was simply told that this was a new policy since I had used Hotels.com. They didn't know what would have been done had I not had the credit card. That is just poor business. Who comes to Paden City, WV and holds a rager in their hotel room, it's not like at a resort beach town with unruly partiers. Besides, I'm 61 and can assure you that there was no need for a CC for "incidentals".
